guys, this is what i get Enter your serial number: LU504704639
Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2R-D2A.
Your Drive Pins are most likely not cut.
can you recommend me as to what chip i should get. or should i be patient and wait for a softmod? my range is 30-40 bucks. thanks for the help in advance. also, can you give me a link to a tutorial as to install the chip. i know i will have to solder it. thank you thank you :)

get a wiikey or yaosm "cheap as chips" does the same job.
don't hold your breath waiting for a soft mod , if and when that happens the hole will be closed with the next update

install it with wires not the easy solder , less chance of you messing up the install

Any ideas about my Wii.
I have an LU58905443, but when I type it in the Wii checker, it tells me to enter my full serial number.
I already have a D2Pro v3 coming, so I think that I am safe. I ordered it pre-soldered to be safe, but now I am worried that I am going to have pins missing.
Any thoughts.

you definetly wont have cut pins , but you may have a d2c if this is the case then your d2e will not work on a d2c but it will on a d2c2 or the d2e

I believe the drive chip I have is D2B with the drive pins not cut (LEH1228xxx), does anyone suggest what mod chip would be bestfor me, I don't have any experience in soldering so would prefer a solderless chip.

I thought that the newest version of chips are just also D2E compliant.
Yes, I just checked the website, and it says that these chips "Work with D2E, D2C, D2C2, D2A, D2B and DMS"
Are you saying to me that the D2Pro v3 will not work with a D2C. Now you are making me nervous as I have already ordered it.

correct, they broke the code for d2c trying to ram too many versions on one chip

Today, I've launched a new Wii Drive Database website, the address is http://www.wiidrives.com/
The site will hopefully make it more reliable and easier to identify the DVD drive chip (current and latest) model without having to open the console, by simply looking up the serial number.
Currently, there are only entries from PAL/european consoles in the database but I hope that as many as possible will contribute and add their details. Over time it will become more accurate and the value of the site will increase.
I know, there's already a site available by Nintendo-Scene that works like this and it does a good job. The issues I have with it though is that I think it's not up to date (D2C2/D2E is not supported) and it's not providing the details and flexibility I want out of a tracker.
Anyway, please visit the site, add your details, and let me know what you think.

So, better you start to use google properly, and input words like "Wiitracker+serial+number+chip"
First resutl I got was:
http://wiitracker.nintendo-scene.com/search.php
Duh!...so just post your Serial number there ( full) and get info on the % of which chip your Wii's motehrboards is built in.
Easy...
