Email From CycloWiz.com - Order Delayed

I have had the following email from www.cyclowiz.com today:

Dear Avid Customers,
We have confirmed with our supplier that we should have the CycloWiz in
stock and ready to ship Tuesday February 13th for both first and second
batch orders. Please note that all sales are final and we have already
pre-arranged shipping to ensure the fastest turnaround time possible. We
will be sending individual emails out to confirm shipment of items when the
time comes.

I am dissapointed with the because when I ordered it I was order number 26. I was told yesterday that it would be posted Friday/Monday but now I get this!:mad:

I am really angered by this. This re-seller was on the forums spamming always, and I warned people against him. Why would you buy a product off someone with a template crafted website and is incredibly un-professional.

Narrow minded will always flame and say why can't I post this link here and that, the problem is there are poor business men in this industry, VERY POOR. So you have to be super careful.

He does seem to have bought stock, but I think his business practices leave a lot to be required.

I am also very upset by this. I purchased the first day and was part of the "first batch", which was quoted on the web site as shipping Feb 7th. Today I also recevied the notice that my order will be delayed. Additionally, 5 days after I ordered it was announced that the product will not work with all Wii's - and it turns out I have a D2B chipset which means the Cyclowiz is worthless to me. Despite it never being mentioned on the web site (until this week), or on my original invoice, they are taking a "all sales final" stance. I am under the impression that it is illegal in the state of California (where I am) to change the terms of a sale after the fact. Given the fact that Craig Andrews, the proprietor of cyclowiz.com, is also in the US I'm sure there is legal recourse for me as a consumer. But, unfortunately like most shady businesses, my $42 is just not worth the hassle required to recover it.
I expect that after I recieve my unit (Feb 20th?), I will try to re-sell it for about half what I paid. If anyone with a DMS or D2A chipset (and enough patience to have not ordered arlready) would like it, please let me know.

Sounds like the shipment from Team Cyclops was delayed. Not really his fault.

I agree that the "all sales final" stance blows and is a sign of poor customer service. Especially since the info was announced after a lot of us ordered.

I was order #121.. and the "all sales final" thing was there when I ordered.. it is not in the invoice, but it was clearly on the website.

People that have ordered the "CycloWiz" from "gamefreak" have got this email:


The CycloWiz does not work in Wii consoles which use the GC2-D2B chipset,
just like its "pre-decessor" the Wiinja.

For this reason we decided to completely remove the CycloWiz now from the assortment.

All of your CyloWiz orders will be replaced by the WiiKey.

The Wiikey runs in all current models of the Wii consoles...

If there is a delay, come on here and say so. People will be more understanding than if you are trying to hide.

I am sure you will be able to get your full amount locally through craigs list or something. As long as you sell it fairly soon after gettiing it.

It's not like there are many options out there right now.

Did anyone order from the divineo.com North America website? I pre-order mines on Monday of this week. All I got is a email confirmation about my order processed and charged money from my card. No other information heard from them since or say any order delay from them. No word or anything from divineo. I'm going to wire solder the cycolwiz, I don't really trust the idea of on-board quick solder..

I ordered mine from Divineo North America. I also have not received any word on when it will ship, but if Cyclowiz hasn't even gotten theirs yet, you can bet Divineo isn't getting their allotment until after that.

I'm figuring probably around the 18th or so. Of course, I don't even know what chipset I've got since my tri-wing bit was too big to fit into the screws....but I got it on launch day so I've got my fingers crossed.

This person was on the official vendors list for the chip so why are you bashing him now? He seems to have conducted his business in a very professional way with me at least. So the chips are going to be delayed for a few days I can live with that.

They say the sx28 chip is not supposed to be flashable. You can upgrade it but only with an external programmer. The one guy there Gradius has done many firmware hacks in the past and he says DVD upgrade feature is not possible so I am beginning to wonder now too. :eek:

Just got tracking from Fedex for my cyclowiz! Just shipped today when I read my email. It's coming from Canada, so I'll be expecting it next week! We'll see how it will turn out. I've been doing PS2 mod chips for a while, so this is gonna be cake for me.

I hope there words are true to have DVD upgradable.

I preordered my Cyclowiz from Xmodds and they have been really good keeping me up to date on the status. The last email I got was:

Me: "Thanks for the speedy reply. I just wanted to inquiry if the Chip has been mailed out or not. If not do you have a possible time frame."

Them: "Not yet, Team Cyclo have still not released them, they said between now and the 14th"

You can probably find a security bit set at some local store. I have a set that i bought a long time ago and it has a few tri wing bits in it.
I am pretty sure they have them at frys (if you are in the us and one is close to you). you could also check somewhere like radio shack and home depot.

I may have to wait probably another week then, I'm trying to figure out where it's coming from. I also email them about my shipping and tracking.

If you have a Sears around try them. It comes in a bit set with lots of security adapters. But its also around $20

You will have no luck with a tri-wing bit alone. I bought such a bitset myself and tried to disassemble it today. The first two tri-wing screws were no problem, but then there are two more at the bottom of the console, which are to deep inside the case. I was not able to insert the bit deep enough to reach them. I suggest to buy a simple tri-wing screw driver from ebay for a few bucks.

yes they are devious those last 2, luckly i had tri from moding gba and that works fine. I found it easy to take apart it was harder putting back i had around 10 screws left over, just make sure u keep that small screw from holding front cover on extra safe..

I realize that this thread is getting pretty off topic but is there a diagram somewhere where each screw in the console is labeled? I've been looking all over the net for one. Any tips?

Don't get the Sears Bit set that someone LINKed above.
It doesn't work, Bits are TOO Big for the Wii.
Hope I saved someone a Trip to SEARS , I made the TRIP for you, And NOW I have to go back and TAKE it BACK! :eek:

you need a Tri screwdriver forget about getting bits, you really need to buy of internet, your supplier if on internet should also be able to supply.

and dont try bodge it the Wii screws are well soft and get threaded easy

The owner of the site said that the chips will be shipped to him with 48 hour delivery on Monday, so he'll get them on Wednesday the 14th. So, depending on where you live, you'll probably get it on the week of the 19th.

well, crap. I guess the week of the 19th will have to do since they aren't refunding any money. I think it's pretty shiesty. I wish I had bought from someone else.
