Well now with the support for new bioses (is 5558 xblive compatible ?), it would be nice to be able to switch between bioses on your xbox, without editing the boot.cfg everytime on your pc. If 5558 debug is live-friendly (im not sure, that's why i ask), then this feature has meaning.

For instance:
Enter the .bin paths for multiple bioses in the boot.cfg (X2 4977 and 5558 debug), specifying the default bios to load.
Then on xbox bootup, before phoenix 1.1 tries to load a rom, it checks if, say, the black key is held down. If so, then a menu pops up allowing me to select the default bios to load (sets the default bios in cfg).

I might sound over my head, but this feature just approaches a chip more. THX FOR EVERYTHING, you guys are GODS, it's amazing what's been done... :D

You are in luck.

The next version will definately have the ability to switch between bioses using the tray eject detection method (ala cromwell).

Using a controller to choose is preferred of course, and if the Phoenix guys can add support for USB by the next release it will be in there.

Because the Loader is not a traditional, XDK built xbe, accessing the USB, and hence the gamepad, is extremely difficult. All usb interface on the xbox is done via the libraries, which come from the xdk, and are statically linked into an xbe. Using these libraries in our xbe would mean including illegaly obtained microsoft copyrighted code in our application. Very illegal, thus we refuse to go near it. However, we have a couple of other options we are looking into. One which may make it into the next release, but provide only basic usb support, and another which will probably take longer to pan out, but will give us much more flexability.

We'll see what we manage to work out.

For now, the tray eject works. :-)

Cool, anything that would facilitate bios switchability without accessing a pc would be great!...

Many of us use cheapmod, 256kb bios only. If Team Phoenix can release a TATX Debug Dual BFM Bios, I think it's good for us to connect to monitor without flashing TSOP or buy X2 or Chameleon chips.

Where to find the features for 5588 Debug (BFM) Bios?
