N of the version 1.0 of the BIOS yet relatively are restricted the option, what is normal however for a first version. Burned disks boot immediately in the turning on, no keys compel. Disk on + r media run, have that at least with the one sign I, not (viper has the same problem). -R media run runs very good, everything, what ran on the same Cube with viper, also with the Qoob. Through hold becomes the B key the boat menu called, in which out of a list the start cash programs can be selected directly on the chip. The MP3 Player announced stands me unfortunately not yet for testing to the decree, but I join also that later here on. Original disk and the OriginalBIOS can be called per Y and/or X.

Disk Swap in Games with several disks klappt unfortunately not, however yet will come has.. also here the viper the same restriction. A function waited becomes the Qoob BIOS already, for that at the viper already for months: Audio quickly in the BIOS. Games with defective Sound (Topgun, draw lots King cathedral, Naruto, als Homide, etc) sound wonderfully, no "Kreischsound" more, no Patch compel.

i really like how it looks on the cube, really nice the usb connection location, also the audio fix its a nice adition, hope it will be on viper soon.

well i live in germany let me translate you the interesting parts:

Der Chip kann bereits ohne eingebaut geflasht werden, die Windowssoftware erlaubt aus 15 Bänken + 1 BIOS Bank zu wählen. Da ich noch eine Testversion habe, ist leider keine Anleitung dazu verfügbar, wie z.b. andere Programme konvertiert werden müssen um vom Chip zu booten. Sobald ich mehr weiss, wird das in diesem Thread hinzugefügt. Besonderer Vorteil des USB Flashens ist, das zum einen einige PCs nichtmal einen Parallelport haben, zum anderen es mit dem Viper per Druckerport ziemlich oft Probleme mit der Chiperkennung gab.

The chip can be flashed without beeing installed. The windows software allows you to choose out of 15 banks and 1 bios bank. As I only have a testversion there is no manual how other programs can be converted to let them boot from the chip. As soon as I know more I´ll post that in this thread. A very special advance of the usb flasher is that some PC´s dont have a parallel port as well as the there often were often problems recognizing the chip using the parallel port.

In der Version 1.0 des BIOS sind die Optionen noch relativ beschränkt, was aber für eine erste Version normal ist. Gebrannte Disks booten sofort beim Einschalten, keine Tasten nötig. Disks auf +r Medien laufen, zumindest mit der einen Marke die ich habe, nicht (Viper hat das gleiche Problem). -r Medien laufen sehr gut, alles was auf dem gleichen Cube mit Viper lief, läuft auch mit dem Qoob.
Durch halten der B Taste wird das Bootmenü aufgerufen, in dem aus einer Liste die startbaren Programme direkt auf dem Chip ausgewählt werden können. Der angekündigte MP3 Player steht mir leider noch nicht zum Testen zur Verfügung, aber auch das füge ich später hier an.
Originaldisks und das OriginalBIOS können per Y bzw. X aufgerufen werden.

In the version 1.0 the functions are very low whats normal for a first release. Burnt discs will boot on turning the cube on no pressing buttons is necessary. dvd+r wont run on the brand I have as well as on the viper. -r are running very good everything that ran on the same cube with viper will run with qoob. When pressing the b button on startup you can access the bootmenu where you can choose from a list all bootable programs directly on the chip. The announced mp3 player wasnt included in my testversion but I´ll add that later. Original discs and Original bios can be accessed by pressing Y or X.

Swapping 2 game discs isnt running yet but will be included viper has the same problems. One function the qoob bios already has, for what viper users are waiting for months now is the audio fix. Games with error sounds like (look at the list above) sound wonderful, no scratching sound anymore no patches needed.

Hope now that you are able to understand my english :D as far as I can see the qoob bios has all the enhancements the viper cobra has but with audio fix and mp3 player. Another feature when reading on the forums is that there is a disc check function so you can check the disc (full or some parts) if you have a good burnt disc or an errorous with DRE.

Sounds like a good chip :). Might pick one up in a few months and change from the viper if they don't fix audio prob.

being patient could save u 65bucks. i think its great that cobra has decided to up the ability by fixing idle bug and showing the first no swap bios. now that theyve tackled the most important things, they can worry about the not so important things. yes the audio stream is annoying, but the idle bug for some was more annoying.
