I'm suprised that nobody has tried to help you by answering your questions. Well first off, I'm new to the DS homebrew scene as well. This forum as well as moddz.com are good resources to find out what you need.
You would have to download a few files put them in the right places, and THEN you should be able to load them up.
When I first got on the forums, the Max Medai Dock/Player looked good to me as well as you can buy it from Wal-Mart or Best Buy. I did MONTHS of researching and asking questions on this site and honestly, 90% of the users preferred to stay away from the MMD. I just got my supercard lite and R4 yesterday and it's working perfectly. I had heard way too many complaints to justify me buying the MMD even though it was readily available at local department stores.
My advice to you is to ask about EVERYTHING. Trust me, someone on this site knows the answer. Then make your choice.

90% of the users preferred to stay away from the MMD
And 86% of the user don't own the MMD, just say that because 4% of people don't like it and told them that.

If you do enough research on here, and it seems good enough to you, go ahead and buy. I'm not going 2 be like some members on here truly try 2 steer you away from the MMD. I never used it so I don't know. All I can tell is you is that when I asked certain questions I got negative answers most of the time. However, I think you should start here and post your questions if you havent already. This particular forum is for Datel products:
