Zune Phone: It's Coming and will play nicely with Xbox 360

Rumors indicate that MS is going to be releasing a Zune Phone. It is said that the respective device will also allow you to stream data to and from your Xbox 360! Moreover, the software will be a mixture between the 360 dash and Zune's OS.


Also, the Zune Phone is going to be able to stream data to and from the Xbox 360, which means you may be able to watch those downloaded videos on your phone or stream music to your 360.

The Zune Phone's interface will be a mixture of Zune and Xbox 360, but may not be touchscreen, like the iPhone.

Since Microsoft plans to release it this (late) year, they will only have to play catch-up with up to 6 months of iPhone head start (iPhone's coming June) instead of nearly 5 years of iPod head start.

play catch-up? Why do they need to? And a BMW looks and is nice but I sure in the hell don't have the money for one. So I can care less about a iphone. I dont have the what? $500+ for one.

I much rather have better PPC phones, I have an HTC Wizard and honestly, I can't imagine life without it. There's no way that I can go back to having a regular cel phone. If I had to choose between the zune phone and the iphone, reluctantly I would take the iphone, since I think it will have more functionality.

Given the price, and less available apps (probably) for the iphone I'm sticking with my windows mobile devices though. The phone will definitely have a market though, both of them... it's just I won't be in either market.

so that blows away the whole 360 dash rumor probably

i have heard that the back usb port next to the power cable input has write access though, i need ti check it somehow

Knew someone was going to say it, truth is the Zune and future plans of Zune Phone was around even before Apple's Iphone was even being thought of. Back in E3, they mentioned having a phone that would connect with the 360, at the same time they announced Xbox Live Anywhere. So they aren't stealing any ideas from anyone. Though I will say this, they never mentioned that it would be THERE phone, so it's possible this could be a load.

Actually, you can rip pictures from a USB Flashdrive from the front USB Port, so it DOES have write capabilities. As for the rear port, you can use any USB HDD and use it as a memory card as well as music storage. I have my 120 GB External connected right now.

The iPhone has been waited for YEARS and MS actually talked about an application on phones and PDAs that support Xbox Live gamer tags. They never said they'll make their own phones or PDAs.
