What to do with my (useless) Modem Adapter

Hi guys,

I just bought a Modem Adapter for 1.90 euro's.

I don't care what happens to it (as in: I won't use it anyway, so I might as well toss it out of the window), I've just got a lack of imagination what I could do with it.

Any (funny or serious) ideas are welcome.

you could mount the qoob mini USB adapter in it with an external USB plug where the phone jack is now...
...or you could throw it at a train

take a bba and throw both out of the window at the same time

btw. the idea of using it as a box for "additional stuff" (e.g. the qoob usb plug or the viper's programmer and so on...) is not that bad :)

I like my idea best...or the throwing out the window. but only throw it out the window if it's a very tall building and you set fire to it first.

Well if its useless anyway,take it apart and modify it to try to connect someting else to the port(hdd or dvd) ;-)

Don't throw out good hardware just because you don't need it right now, you never know if you might need it someday, or at least find someone who'll give you a couple of bucks for it. Some games do support lan games that let you connect gamecubes together (I guess all you need is a hub or a crossover cable?, it might not even use tcp or udp anyway) That'd suck if you had everything you needed except a second bba, I know I'm going to get a 16 player monkey target game when super monkey ball 3 comes out. 1080 avalanche supports the gamecube lan too, I'd move a few tv's around for a massive monkey target tournament.

I would agree if it was a bba, but it's not. It's just a modem.

off topic but do you know if 1080 is more than 4 players with more than 2 gamecubes?
i tried it with 2 gamecubes on lan and it was still only 4 players

I just figured you could have more thatn 4 players becuse you can already do that with one gamecube, that sucks, I'm gonna still keep my fingers crossed for 16 player monkey ball games.

train's use blasting caps on the tracks for communication reasons, don't they, I think you'd need to have some seriuos stuff to hurt a train. And without the 400fps camera it's just not worth it :D

lol, yeah, I guess as long as it's not C4 it should be ok;) someone else could film it while he hits the detonator:D

Throw a seagull with it, and there's one shitting seagull less in the world:D
Or remove everything in it and sell it to gamestore, and then put it in ebay with name "GC Modem Adapter with no covers" and you get money at 2x.
Or smash it couple of times with fine adjustment sledge hammer that all parts will blow out, and put it in frames, and take it to art exhibition:p

Or make a poll what to do with it to every forum you can find.

alright buddy, the poll's a good idea, but if you harm a seagull, or any animal for that matter, I will be forced to tear off your face as I am a vegetarian;)

I'm a vegetarian for ethical reasons so I don't agree with killing animals at all.

I would say the train thing is awesome. Take a mini disc and tie a string around the modem to it...then use it as A MINI MODEM NINJA STAR.... :-|

Well then it all works out for the best, because after you throw it at the train it will definitely come apart :D

Smash it, punch it, kick it, shoot it, blow it up, burn it, drive with land roller on it, drown it, rip it and put it back to your GC and turn power on. I'll give you 5 bucks if it still works:D

Useless thread? I think this is one of those most informative threads I've seen in a while:rolleyes: Except for the The Golden FAQ thread in the modchip development forum...check it out, you'll see what I mean;)

If its like most PC modems,you could always use it to patch together 2 phone cords RJ.... whatever they are,instead of going to Radioscrap (Radioshack) and buying a 99 cent coupler.

mod it into a memory card adapter. Get one of those memcard readers and one of those older mmc cards that are wide and fix it so you can save gc saves on it and dols.
