Gamestop has listed a 512MB Xbox 360 memory unit for a price of $49.99 and state it is due to ship on March 1st 2006. MS has responded on the matter by saying that sometimes retailers put up products based on innacurate information.

“We have not made any announcements about a new MU,” a Microsoft spokesperson told Next-Gen in an e-mail statement. “Keep in mind that retailers will sometimes list items based on the best available information that they have, which may later turn out to be incomplete or not 100 percent accurate.”

what about €75.00(EUR), or the round-abouts there, for an 80Gib SATA HDD, and some Hacked Firmware to get it working w/the XBOX360™?!?!

If this makes the overpriced 40MB stick card cheaper then I'm all for it!
I wish MS would just release a simple 10 dollar USB memcard capable of just holding 1 (maybe 2) Live Profiles.

Profile recovery always fails the first time and I'm not patient enough to start it a 2nd time. Throwing some money at the problem sadly sounds like a plausible idea.

nintendo had it right doing away with memcards and using sd cards.
sony has mem stick ports in the 60gb model but im not sure exactly what theyre used for.

they just need to get rid of mem cards and have either some type of flash memory card support, or thumbsticks.

Gotta agree with you, Nintendo was very smart in that action. As for the PS3, as far as I know it's for playing music off of the cards.

If this is true, would it then be possible to download a XBOX360 game demo on it?
