It's all a matter of news, facts, and fairness- I mean, if max console is supposed to be a balanced website in their news coverage.. when I first stumbled upon them I thought it was great. Why all the pro-60isness in the last month or two?

I am not talking about putting down the 360, just reporting news/facts.

I agree it was a bit off what I said there. :)

To be honest with you mate I really dont care who does what as long as they keep making good games.

But I absolutely will not buy a PS3 until it has what I consider to be a few 'must have' games and its miles away from that in my eyes.

Even the games that I want are available on the 360 and that makes it an even more impossible task.

I never even bought a 360 until May last year and even then I got a deal that was just too good to pass up.

Gran Tourismo did it for me with the PS2. After seeing it I bought it right away but apart from Resistance:FOM nothing in that line up of games even comes close to a killer app and nothing on the horizon till about Christmas 2007 that will be worth buying.

In my uni days I was a serious hardcore gamer and had that been then now I would have had a US import of the 360 on the day it came out and Jap imports of the PS3 and Wii regardless of the games that were out.

Now I have to 'discuss' matters with my wife before I buy :(

Life catches up with you when you are a gamer it happens to the very best of us!! :D

I never intended to discuss a PS3, the post was never about PS3 but somehow you felt like witting about why not getting one. Interesting psychology at work :-)

I really think they are unrelated. But if you ask me I still think even at $400, a console is a bit high priced for this market. I really wonder for how long the Wii gravy train is going to last, if it's a fad or not.

I'm not sure it's really news, MS have lowered their forcasts for their current financial year by 7.7%, big deal.

On the other hand the company that dominated the last 2 console generations, the company that many thought had only to turn up to beat the compitition, is not doing as well as it or anyone thought.

We're not talking about bad performance from the PS3 we're talking a disaster, consoles still on the shelves less than a month after launch, no games (of any note), one PR car crash after another.

So i'm sorry but i can see why the PS3 gets all it's bad news reported and the 360 doesn't, the PS3 had set it's sights much higher than the 360 and lets be honest no one likes a show off.

They are most likely cutting shipments because the new hardware might not be done and they are just shipping out the older hardware models in stock. Think, this system IS a year older. If the PS3 can't meet shipments or cuts them, it's a BIG DEAL, because it JUST CAME OUT. If you can't sell what you have on the shelves a few months after it's released you need to think about your product OR revise your way of advertising.

I wish people would stop moaning about this kind of stuff.

At the end of the day MS can AFFORD to lose $$Billions on Project XBox because of the rest of its empire.

Sony cant because all of the eggs are in the Blu-Ray/PS3 basket after a series of disasters from the laptop battery recall to the spyware CD fiasco.

That the 360 hasnt sold as well as MS would have liked will be irksome to the MS board and may result in a few firings at the games division but thats it.

That the PS3 hasnt sold at all well yet is a DISASTER for Sony because they have bet so heavily on its success.

Be honest here, does anyone think that Ken Kuturagi will be anywhere near the PS4 or PSP2 if the PS3 fails to vastly inferior 'gimmicky' hardware the way the PSP has?

Yeah Yeah, everyone who doesn't want to be called a fanboy says "I have the other consoles". If you have a 360, why aren't you out there playing the NUMEROUS 5 Star games that are on it? Instead you're here trying to state that the 360 is inferior to the PS3, in every way imaginable. Or at least in your imagination it is. If you have an 360, why are every single posts of yours in the 360 forums all anti-360? I just don't see how that works out, unless of course you have a 360 because someone bought it for you despite you not wanting it because you wanted the ever so glorious PS3.

Basicly, if Sony says they're selling just as well as they expected, they're lieing their asses off. They expected everyone to buy into the hype and it sell millions, that is evident in their uncbacked gloating. What happened is someone asked them if they were dissapointed in their sales and they thought the best thing to do would remain cool and say that they were expecting just that amount to be sold so that their fans like yourself can go around saying that their thousands of consoles sold (Mostly in Japan) are way more valuable then the millions of 360's sold (USA, Europe, AND Japan). How does that work? In the end, the PS3's are selling next to nothing, while the 360's are selling at a steady speed.
