People may be talking about how hard it is to grab hold of a Wii these days, but it seems that for one gamer getting an Xbox 360 was a much harder task to complete :).

I pretty much would have taken the first one back and went somewhere else. It's obvious that he's buying picked over and returned systems. After all, everyone knows that if you have a problem with a console you buy one from Wal-Mart, swap the bad console into the box, and return it for a refund.
What does Wal-Mart do? They throw it back on the shelf.

Go to Gamestop or Best Buy if you want a working console out the box.

... a missing controller, and you asked for more?

I agree with andreo.

I bought mine from best buy, a couple months ago...and its still working great, no probs. It has froze one time...after 4 hours straight of NFS Carbon...but I didn't care much, because Carbon saves you game after every race...so its not like you have to start over or something.

I always end up asking myself this question after hearing stories like this and it confuses me so much and makes me realize the complexity of people (if that's what you want to call it). Frankly, why the hell would somebody work so hard for a system that isn't workin at all (literally) for them? The 360 has gotten better. It's these rare scenarios when a guy has to send it back to walmart for the umpteenth time and he just doesn't ask for his money back. I'll stick with computers, they're much less complicated then people.

It's 'Lonely Man Theme' by Joe Harnell. It was the end-of-episode music from the 'Incredible Hulk' TV show starring Bill Bixby.

I've read this story on other blogs and everyone seems to think that WalMart re-sells opened merchandise that was returned. I'm a VERY particular shopper and I have NEVER seen this happen in the 15 years that I have shopped at Wal-Mart. Other retailers do this and some even offer a discount for "open-box" items. As far as I can tell, even unopened merchandise that is returned to my local Walmart gets sent back to distribution centers or manufacturers.

I think people are being too quick to say that their local Wal-marts re-sell merchandise just because other retailers do.

I sent my 360 in for the fourth time a week ago. Yeah, I'm angry about it, but it's really just a strain of bad luck on my part. I still think it's a bitchin system. I've got friends who've had their system since day one, no problems. Hopefully I don't have to do it again.

Have you ever thought maybe his systems i.e. his TV at home are causing the xbox360 to malfunction and frying some components. You saw that the last xbox360 worked at the retailer, maybe his TV is cursed or something else thats hooked with the xbox360.
