Hi
I have this PSP with no sound coming from either the speaker or the headphones. Everything else seems to be working (video, internet, etc).
Any suggestions on what can be the problem? Seems unlikely that both the speakers and the headphone jack got damaged.
I have been tempted to open it and look around but I would like to know what to look for.
Thanks
Hans

I did work on one yesterday that had a problem with the lower button bar (the one with the volume control, start, select etc). seems it had shorted and no matter what you did it was putting it into mute all the time, sometimes with the muted icon showing sometimes not.
Looks like you need to go into it and have a look see. Best thing to do is reduce it to it's bare essentials and see if you have sound.
Take the board all the way out, attach a single speaker to the board, leave the wifi board disconnected, and all you need to hook up is the mains adapter lead and the x,o,Triangle, square board to the mainboard and boot it up and see if you get any sound (don't bother trying to connect the screen). at least this way if you do you know it's something else yet to be attached such as the wifi board.
Only do this is your comfortable with taking it to bits of course. also make sure you have it resting on something non metalic and keep the speaker away from the board (they have a habit of trying to get close due to the coiled wired it attaches with).

Hi
Well I finally open it and found out that the problems was the WIFI, memory card headphone jack card. The headphone jack had broken off the card. So i bought a new one and now is working.
thanks for all the replies
