An analyst has ruled out the possibility of MS slashing the price of the Xbox 360 during the first quarter of this year. Titles such as Bioshock, Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Crackdown, Mass Effect and a new Splinter Cell should also propel the Xbox 360 to new heights during 2007.

The Entertainment and Devices Division, which includes Xbox, PC games, the Zune media player, interactive TV products and mobile embedded devices, reported yesterday an operating loss of $289 million for the second quarter ended December 31, 2006 and a fiscal first-half loss of $383 million.

Still, the division racked up quarterly revenue of $3 billion, a year-over-year increase of 76 percent.

Sebastian also notes a "strong lineup of software" that should drive sales for Xbox 360 in 2007, citing games including Bioshock, Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Crackdown, Mass Effect and a new Splinter Cell.

hmm I dunno, I got a core for $200 after rebate, kinda thought that might've been something to do with a bulk quantity purchase from m$ and later on in this year they'd cut the price down by $100. I'm upgrading that core with a new chrome bezel too taken off of a brand new system :)

During Boxing Week in Canada the Premimum was basically $100 off everywhere and we get GRAW and 6 Arcade games with it too, some places even included Gears of War too, not a bad deal. I considered buying another one.
