is qoob worth to get

I am just a neebie for the mod chip stuff
I am thinking to get a one and start backup my game before I got any
more scratch on it
anyway, I just notice there is a new modchip coming, qoob
and I am just wondering is it worth and is it better than others.

I email them to check the price and it seems the price will be a
little bit higher than viper
also, I notice it said BBA and SD mem reader required, which means
the total price for it will be much higher ...

well .. if we just ignore the price issue, is it worth for us to give a shot or
not?

or I should just stick with viper which most ppl recommand is most easiest way

of course, qoob is far superior to viper/ripper.
and you dont need sd card/bba, thats only for the marked fetures.
the price will not be much more than the viper, the sx verion may actualy be even cheaper.

Do you know what's different between PRO and SX version? I can't find much info from their website about this. Man, I thought BBA is required and I just bought one on eBay two days ago. >"<

I would assume (*only assume!) the SX version doesn't have USB. It requires less power and is cheaper. The USB would be the only real thing to knock off easily that would make sense in this equation.

only difference will be flash size,b ut iam not 100% sure about this.
and gamefreax is overpriced, buy it at foundmy.com, for the pro it is, 69,95EUR(90.65USD) vs 65.00USD(50.41EUR) at foundmy.com . the sx version may cost 40$, but not sure about it yet.

Backing up discs always requires the BBA. No BBA, no backup for you. No standard DVD device for PC can read GC discs.

When you have the BBA and a way to launch any code you want (modchip or BBA or Memcard) you have to follow a backup tutorial. With GCOS 1.4 is quite easy. It's all on screen instruction.

We are receiving lots of emails and inquieries right now, so we might not be
able to reply as thoroughly as expected.

There will be regular releases of the QOOB bios, and features present in other
chips will also be implemented if requested. At the moment QOOB-chip is already
the most advanced 'add-on' product for Gamecube.

DRE's will not occur as with other chips, as we use a different method for disc
authentification.

The onboard USB port is designed for flashing but it is possible to add bios
functionality for peripheral access.

We have not yet decided on any RRP, but we have provided distributors with
wholesale pricing information. The Pro version of QOOB-chip will be 5-10 Euros
more expensive than Viper and similar devices.

Sorry, but if any dres have to do with disc authentification, it's a very slim percentage.

The same thing still holds true. If you're burner / media don't mesh well, then you're gonna get dres no matter what chip you have.

I have the same issue, I ordered mine on the 31st of march. I've e-mailed 3 times with no reply. I know it was a pre-order but i would like an e.t.a. He has forum at another site, I just PMed him hopefully I will get a reply. Have you heared anything?

Orders will be leaving but with this FLU (Bug) being passed around, the doctor stated i should stay home until I actually get over it, so i don't pass it on, since it attacks the chest area.
