View Full Version : Xbox Live Saves potential School Shooting
While chatting to a friend on Xbox Live, a teenager let loose that he was going to bring a 9 mm pistol to school. The recipient told his father who contacted the FBI who seized the would be shooter's Xbox and firearm.
According to Ashville Police, an unnamed middle school student told a California teen during an Xbox 360 Live chat on Monday that he would bring a 9 mm pistol to school. That teen's father alerted the FBI.
Parents and guardians expressed shock and concern about their children's safety.
Administrators say they've taken precautions and painstakingly questioned students about the details surrounding the threats.
Meanwhile, a certain tension lingers over the Teays Valley School District until more information can be learned.
The 13-year-old middle school student involved in the initial investigation was taken into custody and charged with inducing a public panic.
The Pickaway County Sheriff's Office said in a press release that a search warrant was executed, and the Xbox, a firearm (not a 9 mm) and other "items of evidentiary value" were seized.

Holy ****, I live in Pickaway county. Im 8 miles south of Ashville and went to Circleville City Schools. Teays Vally in Ashville is one of Circlevilles big Rivals. I have been there several times and the town is TINY. Like 8000 people tiny. Theres no stores or nothing, just a small group of houses about 13 miles south of the capital.
This is crazy that it happened here and thank god for the people who alterted the FBI!

Another tragedy averted and hopefully this young chap will have a brighter future because of the other guy's intervention.
But why take the xbox? I could understand if it was a PS3 or Wii, what with them being in short supply and all !!!!!

Good thing this psycho was caught before he could do anything.
Lock him up in juvi for 5yrs, then slap a tracking device on his foot.
Justice served.

Let's see whatchamacallit guy who cracked down on GTA games and The Sims wrap his mind around this. He will try to blame this violence on video games but will have to also mention that it was video games that saved lives.
Wow, the guy washed out so badly I forgot his name. Started with a J, right? There probably was a P in his name somewhere. I dunno.

YEAH.... TRY TO TAKE AWAY THE RIGHT TO BARE ARMS FROM GUNWIELDING EX-MILITARY AMERICANS, sounds like a smart idea.... riiiiight.
the question is where the hell and how the hell does a kid get a gun from!
my guess is the parents didn't have their gun cases locked up / hidden good enough. if that kid were to hurt someone i say lock the kid up and lock the parents up for irresponsability.

You can ban whatever you want to, criminals aren't going to give a ****. I find it hilarious everytime I read what other gun part/match is banned because of this reason and that reason. How many law-abiding people who have pistol permits in the US do you think actually commit crimes? Criminals don't go to the county clerk and wait 6 months for a pistol permit, then go out and buy a gun... They get whatever they can and kill with it. Banning guns only hurts the people who would otherwise be able to protect themselves.

Im talking about students not experianced criminals, teenagers would struggle to get hold of fire arms if illegal. most these shootings im guessing happen, because some one in the family has a gun!

I agree, too bad this country is so f'ed up that we have to blame this stuff on everything other then bad parenting, even though that's the reason 90% of these kids are so messed up in the first place.
