Go Microsoft - Gears hits Seventh place in Japanese Charts!

It looks like MS has another reason to smile over Japan, as Gears of War ranked sevent in the Japanese software sales charts with 33,212 units sold. It may not be the millions its already sold over these parts, but its a great start.

The only reason he said go microsoft is because they are not expected to do good in japan. If gears didnt hit the chart whatsoever than u would probly hear that too.

it has nothing to do with being an ms fan. its almost like saying good job american game company for making something move in japan a little.

What's wrong with that? The system isn't expected to do very well in Japan, it's a suprise that the game is selling so well. God forbid the moderator complement a system, it might mean he's not on your side. I'm sure there's been times when he's said something good about the PS3, does that mean he's biased towards it? I'm sick of people getting all bent out of shape because a news post isn't praising their system of choice.

The seventh place can seem scarce, but it is not it, because as all of us we know Japan is the earth of Sony and the Nintendo Ds, therefore it is a very positive result.

the blind cannot see for their eyes are blocked. it shows only that a game other than one for a nintendo or sony system has made it on the charts in a country dominated by nintendo and sony.

i think it's great that the 360 finally made a little positive news in japan.

Good for MS. Between Blue Dragon and Gears of War, they seem to be getting their foot into Japan's door. Now if they could get them to open the door the rest of the way.

I wonder how it'll go for the rest of the year. The 360 has more Japanese RPG's coming out for it then the PS3. That right there is a huge feet, combine that with companies like Capcom working on the 360 a lot and I can definatly see the 360 doing decent in "The Land of the Rising Sun". (By decent, I mean better then expected) The PS3 only has FF, but that's a hard RPG to top in Japan, even if the 360 has 3-4 really good ones.

Another useless bit of info to boost MS flagging image. We all know the 360 is an ok piece of equipment, if the japanese dont agree then that is their choice.

Who cares if they succeed in Japan ?? It will take a lot more than 2 titles to make it worthwhile to the japanese. MS should save the $ and spend it elsewhere where it will matter.

Give away the pitiful number of consoles sold and it would most likely not be as much as they are spending on marketing.

When we all have a Ps2 and a 360 in the living room to compare then we can take sides. Until then it is all hot air
