I am looking to make a component cable for my GC. Has anybody done this yet? If so what are the pin outs for the cable, and, is there a faq on this already available? If not, could somebody with a component cable shoot thiers with a multimeter and tell me the pin outs please.

hmm....well i know this isnt exactally what your looking for but it might have some good info that could help.

http://www.eurasia.nu/wiki/index.php?pagename=GameCubeRgbVgaCable

As they are using the cable to make a vga cable so it has soem pinout data, i really dont see it possible to duplicate that but if your just looking for RGB then give google a look for SNES or N64 RGB mods also check out www.gamesx.com for great pinout info.

however the gamecube willl prolly differ some what form the the other 2 so you might have to look around.

also give google a search for pin outs...

bottom line...if your wanting componet cables form the digi out...id just by the cable. your looking at a lot of work to make one.

I don't even see how you could do this unless you hardwired it to your GCN. The component cable uses it's own special output that no other console uses.

You cannot build your own Component Cable for the GC just by using a pin-out diagram , it requires a DAC built into the cable .

Just order one from NOA. They aren't even expensive.

Ok so the 480p output is dependent on something else entirely, not just a cable. Nuff said. As far as ordering one, well why the heck would I try to build it myself if I could just spend the 30 buks on ebay and get one.

Its like asking why restore a classic car when I can go to a car show and buy somebodys thats already done, derrrrrrr.

Thanks for the responses guys.
