Hi,
I've read other threads regarding battery problems, but mine is somewhat different !
- The batter wont charge in my PSP - its 0% charged
- It charges in other PSP's - so i know the battery is ok !
- My PSP works with the power cable in, so i know my charger and PSP works !
- Once thebattery is charged on another unit I can then put it in my unit and it works but it still wont charge.
- If i check on Sysytme setting and look at the battery settings it says "Charging complete" but also says 0% charged and 0 hoours battery life.
Please help !!!!

Sounds like the line that monitors the battery inside your PSP is open somewhere... that's a bad PSP and will need fixing at the shop. About all you can do is check the three tabs in the battery compartment are straight. Beyond that, it's inside the PSP and trying to fix it will void your warranty.

It could be as simple as a wire connecting to the battery post has come loose... or it could be a bad trace on the mobo... or it could be a bad part in the power system. There's really no way to tell... other than maybe the loose wire one. Beyond that, you're screwed if it's out of warranty. You might just have to put up with it.

you could check the battery fuse on the psp motherboard, maybe it blew up.

don't mess around with it yourself you might brake it, let somone in a store do it for you, and if you open it up yourslef your garantie is dead and i think there is a big chance you'll never get you psp working correct again if you open it up and then close it again, leave that to a pro in some store dude!

Neither the battery nor the battery sense line will have a fuse. They will go straight to the voltage regulator circuit. Only the AC adapter input MAY have a fuse. Fuses aren't needed for batteries since they don't have surges like an AC adapter might. If you use the AC adapter, be sure to plug it into a surge protected power strip, or an UPS.
If you're lucky, Sony is using standard regulator parts on the PSP. If you're unlucky, the regulator is a custom Sony part that can only be replaced at a PSP service facility. Look at where the battery wires go to and see if any of the parts are standard voltage regulators and battery monitors. If you have to ask what those parts would be, you aren't qualified to fix this issue.
