Hey, i'm here concerning about the PSX emulator on Oe-B....Many people have problems about the Multi-Save games, but I heard the PSX emu has an Virtual memory card. Why don't people use that instead, because I played my FF9 and my MGS and saved them both, without hex editing to get the new savegame folder, and they seem to work.

Confused. Someone please help me understand :S

even though the psx emu has a virtual memory card, game saves get overwritten because all of the converted games use the hot shot golfs 2 name and id code (SLUS_XXXXX). if 2 games has the same id and name, the new game overwrite the old one because of these..this is why ppl change the game id and their name so that each game has their own save slot on the memory card...and D_A decided to use the hot shots golf 2 eboot in order to convert our own games...from it

So our only hope is to convert our games using the Popstation GUI v0.2?

Yeah, but hexediting is confusing for me :p I haven't tried it enough to get used to it...I'll just stick with the Popstation GUI. Thanks for the help :D

This isn't quite correct. If they have the same id code they will use the save save, but because its a virtual memory card, it won't overwrite the save that were already there.
It behaves like a real PS1 memory card, having 2 games using the same id code just means both games are using the same ps1 memory card. They will still save to different blocks and not overwrite each other.

Its still neater to use different id codes for each game though, and you won't run out of memory card blocks that way :D

Yes, it behaves like a real memory card to a real Playstation playing real Playstation 1 games. :P The reason why a real PSone saves games to different blocks is because each game has a different ID. With our emulator, all the games being generated our using the HotShots ID, which is why everyone feels the need to edit it, because all the saves overwrite the previous.

I have 4 different saves on my virtual memcard right now. All of them were built using Hot Shots Golf also. Using just one SCUS header works fine for most people. It treats them as independent saves just like a normal memory card. You choose your slots like you would any game.

ok, then the name of the save doesnt matter (except is not nice having 20 saves with hot shots golf 2 name on it :p :D) the only thing that is important is the save id. :D my mistake again lol
