Hmm, Following the directions to a T regarding generating my own psx game eboots and well I seem to be on a loser everytime.
Hot Shots Golf 2 works without flaw but both games (PAL versions of FF7 and Fear Effect 2) I have tried thus far have failed. After generating iso's of each game (disk 1), and then running this thorugh the "patch" process to create the eboots, each eboot runs up as normal (i.e. the disclaimer page which then dims) but after a few seconds of activity on the memory stick it just kinda halts, black screen. I can hit HOME and exit from the psx emulator to the xmb but no obvious errors occur or are displayed.
Anyone else having issues? For the life of me I cannot fingure out what I'm doing wrong.
Cheers, Paul.

not to be a smart-aleck, but did you manage to overlook this in the popstation readme:
"European games (pal) give various graphics problems: graphics glitches, and displacement of screen.
It's better to use only ntsc games (american and japanese), whenever possible."
:: EDIT :: looks like frogger beat me by seconds... yeh, what he said. ;)

No I did expect glitches with my PAL collection but I simply just wanted to test they work "to an extent" as it's clear at least FF7 PAL works, albeit with screen alignment issues.
I was using magiciso and have now started trying cdrwin.

I had trouble with MagicISO creating non-compliant ISO's as well. Wouldn't even work on a PC based PS1 emulator let alone the PSP one. CDRWin should do it fine.

I´m using UltraISO to make mdf images and so on to .ISO, then i use popstation and they´re working great :)

Well got sidetracked by the $trife but after failing dismally with CDRwin i went back to magiciso and saved to bin instead of iso and lo and behold, they work!
Very impressed, well done DA.
Ok, so the PAL/NTSC front. I have found a good resource for patching NTSC to PAL but not visa versa, anyone know any good sites?
(in truth i'm only really after patches for FF7 - 9 / MGS and Fear Effect 1/2)
Cheers, Paul.

You can use a program called "Zapper" which will do the PAL->NTSC conversion on PS1 games for you. It fixes the color space and screen alignment. Works reasonably well but not perfect (a bit of my "Kula World" lower screen is actually cut off now).
Search this forum for it. I downloaded it from here. I believe it was in a package called "PAL2NTSC Conversion Tools". You don't need the other program that is included in the package, it makes no difference.
For building the ISO I use UltraISO if it makes a difference. All games work fine here.
Make sure your game is not copy-protected or you'll need a patch:

Oh mate, although reading around it would seem, currently, converting from PAL to NTSC reduces perfomance in the emulator.
I'd say boo to that, Playing Fear Effect 2 at what to me seems normal speed is an absolute joy!
*applause*
