Boot Gran Turismo 4
Download JAP/NTSC or PAL release(s)
Flatten Image (do not remove anything)
Transfer to HDD
Boots fine (copy protection kicks in at main menu)
Someone should make a crack? Yes?
Tekken 5
It's well known that you cannot access the arcade games (Tekken 1-4) or play the 3D game using a burnt backup and a modchip. Simply transfer the game to your HDD and all these features work fine!
Final Thoughts
No I'm not saying a the HDD is better then a modchip or vise versa. I think any hardcore scener will know that using both has it's advantages therefor he or she should own both!
There are now fixes for GT4 on the hd. Check out ps2hd.com's top 3 news posts for the files and tutorials.
Tekken 4 is not a playable arcade mode in the Arcade history section on tekken 5. only 1-3 and star blade are available. i also don't think you need to transfer it using your pc, you can also back it up using the hdl program and i think it works fine.

yes, you can use a standard pc or official sony hd to back up games and play them with significantly reduced load times off of the hd, all you need is a hd and a copy of hdloader or hd advance
