Final Fantasy VII black screen at loading? Help! :(

Yep, can't seem to get this to load. This is ripped from my original NON-Greatest Hits set. The screen goes black after the PSX logo, and then the system turns off moments later. Did I miss something? :(

I got it working using that same version, use UltraISO and convert it to a BIN/CUE, CDRWIN also works well.

also try formatting your memory stick and then put the necessary files back on your psp.

I used UltraISO the first time to make an ISO file. I just tried to make a bin/cue file, and each time I boot the PSP I get the black screen and the system switches off. No idea why. :(

Any other advice?

make sure you do the obvious, reset default settings, and format the mem card.

Done all that. Suikoden II works just fine. FFVII = doesn't work. :(

same problem here, ntsc greatest hits version. i also tried metal gear solid and ended up with the same problem.

I noticed it doesn't say "Sony Computer Entertainment America" beneath the PSX logo either....whereas Suikoden II does. Suikoden II loads, FF7 doesn't.

i had the same problems.Download the latest Alcohol 120% 1.9.6,select datatype playstation 1,convert your game to ccd(actually it ll be converted into *.img)and it ll load fine.

ive tried isobuster, magiciso, and ultraiso with no luck. i dont understand what i could possibly be doing wrong. right now im trying the abovementioned method with alcohol 120%, but im pretty sure this will be the same as the others because the file size is always the same. there is no difference in the ending eboot.pbp. could it be something wrong with my hotshots dump?

On that basis, I do not recommend UltraISO. Use Alcohol!

It could be a possibility...try with latest alcohol 120% 1.9.6(previous versions dont support ccd image i think)and with a ntsc game.If this wont work maybe its your hotshots copy.

The size of the eboot doesnt matter as it was the same with magic iso or alcohol or power iso.but only with alcohol the game was loading succesfully

Nice to hear that your game worked.you know,Alcohol 120% is the pirate's most necessary tool.You can copy almost everything!!It is so important(in my opinion)that it should be available along with Windows(just kidding :p but i still believe its the best backup soft)

maverick990, my file sizes were different with UltraISO from Alcohol. FF7 disc 1 was 709MB with UltraISO and 714MB with Alcohol.

thats weird all my file sizes are 712 MB. ill try downloading another copy of hot shots and see if it works. i ripped using alcohol just now and it didnt work. and poppyseed, your original problem was it freezing on the precaution screen then turning off, right?

try your iso in epsxe, could just be a badly scratched disc etc. I've ripped my ff7 just fine with alcohol!
