I have just released a GUI for PopStation which you can download over at my site which is www.psp2k.com

Screenshot:
http://www.psp2k.com/infusions/pro_download_panel/images/popstation2.png

I hope you guys like it and i hope that it makes it easier to use, altho you still do need to place the base.pbp and the keys.bin file yourself, you just have the freedom of having the iso anywhere you want.

The readme included is a modified version of the one with the original by Dark_AleX.

I would like to thank Dark_AleX for his efforts making this program and would also like to point out that this app only runs his with the appropriate command lines. Keep up the good work Dark_AleX

Thanks

Thanks a lot man! I'll go try this out.

Would you mind posting a direct link that doesn't require everyone to create a new account on psp2k.com after a while?

Thanks, works great. Although off topic, could you update your psphost with the latest nethost and usbhost so we can use it with irshell?

This'll help all the people that were having trouble, hopefully. Great work, it'll make all the question threads disappear xD

Been a bit busy so updating psp host has been getting put off only took 20/30 minutes for this and updating psphost takes a lot longer than that... will look into it see what needs doing.

About the uploading so everyone doesnt need to register - its a fair point but it will only take you two minutes to register and you only have to do it once ;)

is it really that much to ask u to register at my site? lol i will upload it soon anyways

Thanks

As a suggested update - the options to link in custom ICON0.PNG, PIC1.PNG and
PIC0.PNG or UNKNOWN.PNG would be an excellent option (and with a preview function if you can do it would be awesome too).

Cheers

You can already do the pictures just by copying them to the popstation folder and it will use them instead.

I will add a gui option altho i dunno how i would do a preview....

Will look into it.

You can't really change that without editing the game eboot and/or iso, thats pretty much unique to each game so.... dont think that could be done and if it can you would need to see Dark_AleX not me lol

Thanks

This program is great. I was having trouble converting but not anymore! Also, does anyone know if you need to keep the Document.dat which is in the same folder as KEYS.bin and EBOOT.pbp?

Nope, you don't need that period.

I have just gotten hold of Open Shots myself after getting other people to test pre-release and seem to find that the iso still has to be in the same folder, even tho i thought it would work from anywhere, even so this is still useful for those who can't use the command line however i would like to get this a bit more protable in how its used.

Thanks

No absolutely not, I realize you're trying to drive traffic and that's cool - but you must also realize how many PSP sites pop up every day with a private access forum they want to you register with, be active with, donate to etc..

Anyway, I digress.

Any chance of letting us specify the icon0, pic0, pic1 from your GUI tool without just copying them to the popstation directory? I've been making an ass load of icons for the PSX games i'm ripping and its a pain to manage them with the command line tool. I was thinking something similar to the way PBP unpacker does it. Just point to the iso / bin / img, point to each .png file and then specify an output directory.

I'd be glad to help if you need any, I haven't written .NET in a long time - but I might be able to put something together.

You can find it HERE (http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=981) without having to register.

Very nice app, saves a bit of hassle =)

Actually all that needs to be done is to replace the usbhost with the newer version, the problem is if I replace these files the GUI wont run with it, but replacing the nethostfs works perfectly. So i guess it would still take time, but not too much I imagine.

there are tools to convert pal iso to ntsc iso... maybe you can consider integrating that as well into one gui.

*edit*
I just tried it. but i find it troublesome that i have to keep base.pbp and the key file in the same directory as the iso. so in the end, it doesn't work unless i place the iso in the popstation directory.

That's not cool to require those of us interested in your app to 1) visit your site and 2) register to download--and then as if that wasn't enough 3) verifiy our email addresses.

Other guys post the file as an attachment to their original message. You should have too. In fact, it's not to late to repent and attach the file to your original message.

Anyway, thanks for sharing this with us. I downloaded it via the psp-hacks link above on this page.

Just what I was waiting for! Thanks a lot for this tool, danny_kay1710. It's really useful and makes converting easier and faster (because it's less work).

Thanks again! :)

Gents, I'd ask you to refrain from cutting the Dev for hosting his own files this way, not only are you ungrateful and rude, but you're also discouraging him from doing any further work on what would be a fantastic community tool.

Danny, please take the advice on board for improvements as helpful feedback and pay no heed to the nay sayers. Your work is truly appreciated by many, many people, even if a few can only offer you vitriol in return.

As for the rest of you bagging out yet another Dev, pull your friggen heads in and mind your god damn manners. It's no wonder we have so many Devs not bothering with the PSP community anymore, you're all so stupid as to constantly bite the hand that feeds you.

Honestly, some people...

Lol the point is i havent got any ad's or donation boxes anywhere on my site and i maintain it for fun, the same reason i develop, even if my devlopments are rather simple compared to some.

I am planning on adding more features this was a quick release.

Glad to see people appreciate my work

If you don't like the fact i run a website that requires registration and email verification (as do ALL sites nowadays) don't use my software simple as that.

And for the record I didn't have to even let you guys know and as with every other relase i have ever made i have always uploaded it here after a while - i just like it where if you want it a bit quicker you would come to my site. Seems that people are getting more and more ungrateful for the time and effort people put into helping others.

As always i will add the attachment now - maybe next time i will wait a few days before i even tell u guys that way i wont get flamed for asking you to visit my site :(

Attachment on first post

I apologise to all of those who do appreciate my work and dont mind registering on my site to download, to them i say thankyou and i hope you like my site ;)

Yeah it does seem that i may have to find a way around that - not 100% sure how yet but i am sure there will be a way

Don't really want to have to make it copy all files to a temporary folder and do it that way although if its the only way i guess i will have to

ergg im having a bit of trouble gettin an eboot. I got it to work for final fantasy 7, but when i try with rakugaki showtime, it creates an eboot, but its 0kb big. the psx iso works good also(tested it on an emulator). any idea what might be wrong?

I'm majorly hoping for that feature as well.
