Probably not since Devhook can't even run the PSX software.

They proably releasing the bad games first to see how long it took their firmware to be cracc-d. That way they make us have to upgrade to play the newer games. The only PS1 game I really want to play is Poy Poy.

FFVII is on 4 discs so it would only be for 2gb card users....

It's 3 discs but all discs have the entire game on it.. The only real difference between those discs are the movies.. So it could probably fit in 1 Gb easily considering the bitrate the PSX movies required back then.

To play newer PSX games for PSP we just need a updated PS1 Emu PRX, its custom firmware remember? it should be really easy for Dark alex to updated it.

But the greatest solution would be if someone can make an tool which can convert the ps1 iso into playble eboot files for the psp........that i think would be the biggest challange.....because what sony can people like D_A and Booster can too.....

I'm no genius but I really dont know how people are misunderstanding this...The only PS1 games you can run on a PSP are downloaded direct from $ony to a PS3 and from thence to your PSP.

You cannot rip a PS1 gamedisk and run the game on your PSP as yet, though with some of the dev's out there being so damn good I wouldnt bet on it never happening.

But it hasnt happened yet!

i was wondering, if its possible to replace the 2 prx files that control the ps1 emu on 3.02 OE-A with the ones from fw 3.03? like, we dump the fw with psardumper (of course when we can fully dump it, i know that now we cant dump it correctly because of the key tag) and use Filer 1.9 to replace those 2prxs with the one on the flash0? (like we did before with the 2.71/2.8x hybrid firmware) maybe it will not work, it just a though :D

Ok, i just dumped fw 3.03 with psardumper and compared the 2 prxs size's
(the ones that use the ps1 emu on fw 3.x), and they are pops.prx and popsman.prx. Here are the sizes of each prxs, on each fw:

FW 3.02

pops.prx: 420kb
popsman.prx: 3,92kb

FW 3.03

pops.prx: 427kb
popsman.prx: 4,00kb

As we see, there is a little difference between the 2, so maybe replacing these 2 prxs with Filer 1.9, will let us play newer ps1 games on 3.02 OE, like Medievil :p

true true, it just made me think that although its a cool feature of the psp (especially now DAX has made $ony his ***** again) there aren't a great deal of truly amazing playstation games that are probably gonna get ported, its already been said that there is probably no chance of the FF series being ported due to size and the fact there is still money to be made from the FF saga. As well as games like Gran Tourismo, which, immense as it would be to play again on the psp probably won't be ported due to the fact again it was on more than one disk....

It truly takes $ony to muck a great idea up, first with the ps3 hookup required for the PSX emulator and 2nd for a great opportunity going to waste

Anyways, thats my rant over, pretty much everything I have said is hypothetical anyways but with what we have already experinced with $ony i expect another golden opportunity to go to waste

cant remember if it was said in this thread, but most of the multi disk games where only spread out like that to contain all the videos...there is still a chance that those games will make it to the ps1 emulator...

Sonys paranoia have almost certainly doomed this to failure though...They have released some pretty poor games initially to play cat and mouse with the firmware cracking dev's so they dont lose money on the best ps1 titles...The downside being I dont see many people forking out their hard-earned dough on hot shots golf 2 a second time do you?

Fake memory sticks either work with the PSP or they don't. There's no half-way and the bricking thing is a myth. If your PSP recognises the stick then it will work.

Folder name can be anything you want. "Cool boarders" for instance, works well :D

When I choose the "full screen" option for the golf game and Crash Bandicoot, there are two black bars. One at the top and one on the bottom. When I load up Tekken 2 and choose Full Screen, there are no black bars, the screen is completely covered. Is this normal or is there something wrong?

Yeh it really is a shame, all those original FF and Resi games I own, let alone all the current PSX that are out and I own. Shame on me for owning originals, I know when the time comes and I'm playing PSX games I'm going to feel so guilty, so bad that I just not be able to continue...
