Replacement Lid

I want to replace my jewel with a clear one and then put lights behind it. However I have a newer model that does not have a plastic piece that can be removed. Instead, the jewel is just a sticker of sorts. So this leads to my question, can I replace my new style lid with an old style lid and does anyone know where i can purchase an older style lid? Thanks

good question, the answer is YES. you cna reaplace the entire top or just the lid section from any version of gamecube, where to get one...check out ebay or hodl off for about a month for when the 3rd party replacement tops get relased then buy someones old one for cheap.

when you take the jewel off you'll need to cut holes in the lid becuase there's only 3 small holes with it off...but yeah, good idea :)

Well there has been a damper in my plans, I just noticed that the gamecube is a newer version and the jewel is no longer a plastic piece rather it is now a sticker. So to resolve this I am now looking for an older version jet black gamecube (perferably broken cuz then its cheaper :p) on ebay that I can take its lid and replace it with mine. So with that being said does anyone know how to remove the lid off hand cuz i have yet to take my gamecube apart cuz im waiting for my gamebit to come. Thanks

I'm pretty sure it's as simple as removing the 4 screws and then lifting it off mate :)

I play my GC topless (kinky) and it just slides on and off, so I'm assuming it's as easy as that :)

Ok, but is there a way to take just the lid off after removing the entire case

i cna confirm the that case top and lids are interchangable... the entire top takes the 4 security screws and slids off. the lid is held on with 2 normal screwss
