I'm working on adding a second internal fan to make it look like the GCN's supposed to have another fan. I need to know which molex connector is used for the stock fan cable and PCB connector. I tried molex's website, but I can't find it. I'm not very good at navigating websites. So if someone knew the product number, that would be great. Once I'm done, I'll see about posting what I did if it's cool enough.

your going to have a hard time finding one,,,,,most of nithendo's hard ware is of there own design but you might find something that fits...i finally found some fans that might fit with little to no work, ill let you know when i get them.

Im interested to know aswell... Ill give you some warning though, You might not think it, but you can cause damage to your cube having a fan on the other side blowing air out because it will counter suction in the middle and do nothing so it will still overheat.. well not as badly.. If you have the fan on the other side blowing into, then the inside of the gamecube will get very dusty!! Ive covered the angle of adding an extra fan, its not a very good idea!

To solve your problem by the way of the molex, just solder the wire directly on the board to save your ass the time..

huh? no it wont counter it...

look at the crap diagram below...

Cool Air Heatsink Warm air out

Check out the aerocool Deep Impact dual fan heatsink... it employs the exact same method described above.

In there installation manual thery even suggest mounting the fan blow --> suck --> for maximum performance...

Lol. I might just solder to the board. As for the thought that it's a bad idea, I've thought it through. First of all, It'll blow in so that there's no suction. Second of all, I found a way to make that little stock dust filter stronger with a certain screen I found at a hardware store. Lets in plenty of air but almost no dust. yeah I gotta take it out about once a month and clean it but that's not hard.

Hey, you might aswell buy a dyson and put the hose as the stock fan.. Imagine that, turning on the gamecube, damn, no lag for you! good luck hearing the game play though! I think the filter idea might cause problems, but the extra fan could cause better air flow anyway to counter.

aslo rember the gamecube has 2 intakes....the one in the back help relive pressure. In my opinion the addition of a 2nd fan as long as it blows in is not entirely a bad idea. Gamecubes can overheat...but keep in mind It will add to the dust build up no matter what since you are increasing the speed and volume of air through the heat sink. Also you will need to clean the filter often or youll risk over heating (dust acts as insulation to heat)

this is y most systems have as little fans as possible and they are generally low RPM... to aviod stagnet air and reduce the build up of dust.

but since the filter is removeable/cleanable i think once i get my led fans i will ad a 2nd one....
