problem with umd drive and board help pls!!!

ok this is my bro problem with his psp everytime he puts a umd the thing wil pik it up but when u try to star the game up is dosent load the thing i notice is that it makes a clikin noise inside the drive i open it up and but nothing seems to be wrong wit it..and now also the speaker dont work and only one side of the headfones work.any idea wats going on? pls help me!

well back up the game, put it on your memory card and play the iso with devhook?

you can get this thing called hen-c and that will emulate 1.5 firmware, and i think you can play 1.5 compatiable games of the mem without a umd in the drive for the newer ones youll need a umd in the drive, (which youve said your umd drive is broken) you could try it though, if it attempts to read the disc it might still work, hope this helped, ill try and link you to a good guide tommorow, im going to bed now :)

Welcome to the growing masses of us who own psps with broken umd drives. Sonys crappy workmanship has left us with no way to play games we buy so it is moraly ok to download and play pirate games since sony has left us stranded. the umd drive seems to be very weak and breaks easily. I would prefer to buy retail games as I do with the DS but...sony makes that impossible
