View Full Version : Moore Says Consumers hold key to Xbox 360 Downloadable Content Pricing
Xbox chief Peter Moore has commented that gamers ultimately have the biggest influence on the price of downloadable content, he say if you don't like the content, don't download it and this will send a clear message to the publishers for the future.
Asked if Microsoft would put tighter reins on game publishers because of gamers' concerns, he instead said the issue was literally in players' hands. "The consumer has the ability to vote. And they vote with the A-button most of the time. Either they download it or not." If something is priced wrong, he said, "I think publishers, and we're a publisher as well, will get the message."

so you're telling me there's enough people paying for that overpriced horse armor and team color for game developers to keep them at that high price? for shame consumers, for shame.

A little slow in getting the message, aren't they? Prices on marketplace are stupid ridiculous. Not to mention most of it isn't worth buying anyway. I don't mind buying something if it's worth it. Only thing I've purchased has been geometry wars.
*another nice fix would be to get rid of the point system & go w/straight monetary value like sony's doing w/their service.

everything on live is way over priced and the only thing i've ever bought was geo wars when i 1st received the console and scince then xbox live has seemed more and more of a con with companies such as ea charging for cheats or the other half of the game or for a 64*64 image. well guess what i wont buy it, not now not ever!
1 thing that chesses me off is i can't enter how many points i want to buy but have to select from their preselected points. i just want another 10 points but ive got buy 200.
microsoft letting companies do this is only gonna cost you customers, because i already have had enough of this crap with xbox live do you think im ever gonna try video marketplace you got another thing coming.

You have to give him props though. I mean they do make money off of downloadable content and instead of saying it's our choice to download it or not he explains how to put a thorn in ea's balls.
Go Peter! Speak some truth.

Ya, there actually is. read an article up explaining that a "camper" is charging 300 dollars or whatever for a spot in line.
People are fuckin crazy and will do anything for games.
