A recent survey to Xbox Live subscribers asked for gamers thoughts on a range of potential peripherals and services for the 360. One of them was if they'd be interested in a black controller with backlit buttons, rubber grips and improved d-pad as follows. But we think MS are a little late, as XCM has already made a complete kit for 360.

i dont know about you guys, but i thought the old 6-button sidewinder gamepad was one of the best/comfortable gamepad evarr...

with the introduction of analogue sticks, i had to upgrade. so i just replaced it with the wired 360 controller

i still use the sidewinder for emus, though... nothing beats it :P

No offense to XCM...But Official MS product are better...usually not in price...but it reliability, warranty, durability...basically anything that ends in "ty".

MS needs to get off there ass and make a black 360 with a bigger HDD, and support DivX/Xvid steaming!!!

slightly improved d-pad... it better be DRASTICALLY improved. The 360 controller has got to be the worst d-pad I've ever used.

Honestly, I don't know what the **** you guys are talking about. It's really not that bad, it's like the Xbox's Controller S, but a little more round. It's not horrible. A horrible D-Pad would be the Duke's D-Pad.

The test for the d-pad is playing Oblivion and mapping an item to a diagonal slot. Most of the time it just gets picked up as left/right or up/down instead. Really annoying and really makes you appreciate the PS2/GC d-pad.

True, I rarily ever use the D-Pad though, even on the GC. Although, GC has a great D-Pad, PS2 has one too, but they lose points for their horrible Analog sticks. But, at least you have the D-Pad to fall back on.
