First, I cracked my lcd, so I bought a new lcd. So my old cracked lcd lights up and all and you can kinda see wats going on in the menu, around the cracks. So I get my new LCD in the mail adn my psp, with a working but cracked screen, all taken apart and ready. So all I have to do is take my old LCD out and put the new one in, and it should work fine right. Wrong. Now niethor screen is working but teh sounds goes and since I have the menu memorized I can get to music and stuff but niethor of my screens work, and I know its not a backlight because my new screen came with one.
Should I blame it on the screen seller?
Is it a motherboard problem? And do I probably need a new psp?

I know now its my backlight thats not geting power. But I made another huge mistake, I took the new screen and old screens out of thier cassings and out from teh back light, and held each up to a light while plugged in. the broken one showed something, that was not shown after the psp was turned off, and the other showed nothing either way, so the new one never was working, and the backlight must have caused a short ciruit, so now I cant get power to my old or new backlight. And here's my huge mistake, while placing my new screen into its casing, I cracked the corner, nothing is working for me and my psp.

i think you're battery fell out your psp, or you didnt turn off your psp normally while working on the lcd screen. always use the power adapter and not a battery when working on the insides of the psp.
You need to bridge the backlight fuse with some solder:

its the 0.5amp one

I'm not that good with solder. I dont think I could do that without making a mess. Its not that easy to do something like that is it?

you just put some solder on top of the resistor, but not too much that it will touch the metal casing which holds your lcd screen.
what do you have to lose, its not working anyhow :P

Ok, if we havea soldering iron or something around. I'm taking electricity class in HS now so I'm kind of just learning, but my dad might have some solder and an iron.
Plus I'll have to do something about that screen I cracked, the one I just bought, it was under a warrentee but IDK if it'll count for my problem.
