Gamedaily has an article titled 'video game consoles make the grade' in which they ultimately ending up giving each of the 'next gen' consoles a final grade. Xbox 360 makes its way to the top of the class with an A grade, followed by the Wii at A- and surprisingly the PS3 finishes up with a B+.

Final Prognosis (Xbox 360): The Xbox 360 kicks ass all the way around. Its availability numbers will be through the roof this year, which will be good for those who can't find a PS3 or a Wii. There are also a number of "must-have" games available for the system, and the Xbox Live Arcade service is well-established and user-friendly.

Final Prognosis (Wii): The Nintendo Wii will be the hot item this holiday. Its games promise to appeal to all ages , as along with an exquisite downloadable service and other features that just might change the way games are played. Be prepared for scarity, however - this will be this year's Tickle Me Elmo. . .

Final Prognosis (PS3): Good luck finding one. If luck lands a unit in hand, there's not much in terms of innovation in the launch lineup, aside from Resistance: Fall of Man. Fortunately, the system's got appeal to spare, and that'll come in handy for the gaming year ahead. If the Christmas budget allows for some deep-pocket spending, the PS3 makes an excellent choice.

Only the time will tell which console will be the best of the next gen .. i think that at the end the most important things are the games ..

Did you guys even read it?

The whole article isn't about which console is best, its about which console brings the most bang for your back this holiday season. Then again this article is bount to bring out the flamethrowers.

This holiday season, the 360 is the best choice simply for its availability, choice of games, and future prospect. Can't really deny that.

Next holiday season its a new ballgame, but be fair and look at it neutrally, you see they make sense.

Maybe this is real for you... By my side, I'll prefer a Wii console with the bundled wii sports than the entire game collection of the 360..

True, but Im not a fanboi, and yes I am buying a wii at launch. Now if you wouldve said Twilight Princess, you'd come a tad closer to having a point ;)

Wii lacks all hi-def, hdmi, blu-this and that, hd, hd-dvd... yet it is ok?? i guess the wireless motion remote makes up for everything.

Just like a tiny stylus makes up for the DS's N64 graphics.

Not to mention he still completely misunderstood the point of the thread even after you explained to him it wasn't about what's the best console, but what is the best bet.

And Alpha...yeah, it's not just about the lack of hardware, it's the lack of expensivity...so what if I made that word up? Big deal, wanna fight about it? It's going to be at least 300 bucks less then the PS3, that's a high point when it comes to a new console.

And PCE...rofl, you took the words right out of my mouth.

Pretty graphics aren't everything, sometimes it's nice just go have good games! Remember when games used to be fun rather than having 2GB of textures?

Actually, Xbox360 and PS3 lack HD-DVD as well (out of the box), Xbox360 has no Blu-Ray, no Bluetooth, no mass storage (Core pack) and no HDMI, and only the PS3 premium has WLAN out of the box. Wii always has mass storage, WLAN, Bluetooth, in addition to the Wiimote of course - and it's cheaper. The only things missing are HDTV and Dolby Digital, features only a fraction of the potential customers could use, anyway...

What a bullsh*t. How can they rate video game systems that haven't been released yet. Absolutely useless article

Dont forget also, that it STILL 480p. Its not like its just pretty standard tv. I can still connect it through component and enjoy progressive scan. Also, remember that although there is dolby digital missing, there is prologic 2. And believe me or not, you wouldnt understand the difference if your setup costs less than 500$

I was using my 350 Euros logitech system with gamecube as well as the 360. The games that used prologic were fabulous when it comes to sound. Dolby digital will surely be better, but there are a LOT of things to consider between the two. Your room, speaker placement, quality, cost....
