Xbox 360 Fall Update FIX Coming [Archive]

A new fix for the buggy 360 fall update should be released relatively soon, MS say that they have heard from less than 1% that the update is causing issues for their machine.

We’re hearing from a small number of customers (less than 1%) that are having issues with the Fall Console Update. I’ve been told that the team should have an updated version in the next 12-24 hours. We’ll let you know when the issue is resolved.

If you are having problems with the update for any reason, please call Xbox Support (1-800-4-MY-XBOX in the US and Canada). We’re working with those affected to get them back up and running, and we’re committed to making sure the update doesn’t cause problems for anyone else.

if its less than 1% then its less than 1%...are you complaining, would you like it to be more than that? Cause I sure as hell wouldn't. I'd like to keep them at a minimum if at all possible.

whats 1% of 6 million? 60,000, so until that many consoles go bad because of this, which i highly doubt that number will be reached due to the issue that is causing it, then its less than 1%

But anyway, That was to be expected, at least there haven't been any consoles killed because of it.

theres been 360's that give E71 or whatever.. thats the 360 death , which then you need to send to microsoft so they can send you back a refurbished one

Yes I had Issues... it almost killed my 360, this is what happend after i downloaded the update: http://insanenutter.seifer402.com/fall2006update.avi
I turned the 360 off then back on again and its worked fine since then!

My 360's not modded or anything.
thats a DVD/HDD error... aslog as it happened when the system was finished flashing its ok... atleast u didn't get a E71..

I woulda probably freak a lil too..

Nope i got my 360 brand new on the UK launch day last year.

It seams to be working fine except when your power it on it dont show the xbox 360 logo thingy anymore (this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CA_7k0Z9Rbo) it just goes streight to the Dashboard

Nope its still takes the same ammount of time, something not exactly right here :rolleyes: but hopefully this new dash update might fix it.

if your machine is actually booting the new dash... you wont recieve the update..

:) Yeah.. like the small percentage that are experiencing Overheat problems.. ohh I forgot they later extend the warranty... and aknowledge there are a little more than that...:confused: Now we all know why real programmers use Linux..;)

mine likes to give me error 74 a lot but it still works if i reboot it.. I just take it as a grain of salt, it's just a microsoft product anyway.. I guess I could check the heat sync and see if it needs the shield removed but I guess those systems were constantly freezing and mine only freezes as much as anyone else's does

Do you mean the update for those with the wrong combination of DVD drive and hacked DVD firmware, who are now unable to update their BIOS, or the update for everyone else who've already found that the current one is fine? :D

Seriously, the updated version is likely replacing what was released earlier, in case someone who might have a problem with that update hadn't applied it yet. 100% guesswork of course, but it makes sense to me.

im under the impression by that that microsoft was updating the 360's again with this fix that my brother's 360 needs, so i put off calling the customer support since i read about this, so guess ill have to ring them up shortly

I actually wasn't aware of any problems with regular 360's. I thought the only people with the problems were the dumbasses who messed with their drives firmware and bricked their 360's till they put the original firmware back on.

I don't think Zeus bans because of the "ignore" feature. He would rather us decide if the person is worth reading or not....kind of annoying, but I never see any of Nimbus's or Madonna's posts anymore.
