Halo 3 Coming In Exactly one Year!

It looks like EB has let the cat out of the bag and announced Halo 3 will hit the Xbox 360, exactly one year on from today on November 1st 2007. The game will be available in three packages, firstly there is regular, secondly collectors and last but most expensively the legendary pack at $99.99.


Purchase the Halo Legendary Edition and receive a Halo Spartan Mjolnir Mark VI Helmet Replica! Also includes three bonus discs that contain:

* Behind-the-scenes at Bungie Studios with new insights into the Halo Universe and the making of Halo 3.
* A special hi-res collection of all cinematics from Halo 1 and Halo 2 with director commentary from the Bungie Team bonus

they didn't let anything out of the bag....just last week it said March 31 on their sites.

This is pure speculation from the company, and nothing more.

Hardly an announcement for the Halo 3 release date in my mind.

I believe that this title will most likely save the 360 from within the horrible blight that it's stuck. 360 has done nothing really when you consider how much time they have been given. Maybe this will bring it back up to compete with the Wii and PS3. We'll see.

What are you talking about? Halo was a launch title it was hardly the reason for a sales pick up. It was the ONLY reason to buy an Xbox at that time. :rolleyes:

The games mentioned on the other reply to your post look like being some of the best games ever released for any console.

Oh and look out for Mass Effect as well, the next epic from Bioware.

becasue all the other games suck more ;)

I think the xbox is too firmly aimed at the fps market, everything seems to revolve arround Halo, alot of gamers were disapointed with Halo 2, if 3 is yet another disapointment it may too much for some, personnally i think console fps suck anyway.
I know theres gears of war etc etc, but halo is the biggie, MS's Mario so to speak and the last mario game wasnt so hot and niether were the consoles sales.

Halo 3 is just the tip of a 360-shaped PS3 sinking iceberg. As much as I want to play MGS4, Tekken etc I don't think my wallet can stretch that far for a few games. At least with the Wii I can pretend I bought it for the missus ;)

Completely Off Topic: My most wanted game of next year just has to be Spore. Been watching the videos compulsively for a year.

just because a game does well doesn't mean that it is a good game. the game version of the movie cars did really well, i think it was even the number one game in the uk for a few weeks, doesn't mean it is good. alot of crappy games sell. if you have a halo person sit down and play a fps online on the pc they are blown away at how much more fun it is. maybe halo 3 will be better because it supports a better resolution, so the guns won't be so huge, and the game won't seem so slowly paced. to me there just isn't anything better as far as fps, than the ones on the pc. mouse and keyboard all the way. i don't want to play a fps with a controller, its stupid, they either have an autolock feature, which means it takes no skill, or the control isn't that great. kinda like cheater on games online, you know they cheat because they suck, i love wasting people that i know are cheating.

alot of people share my view of things. halo did well because it came out when the fps fad really kicked in, it became a party game of sorts. but compared to games like half-life 2 on pc, or even unreal tournament 2004, it just doesn't compare.

But they don't get played. Halo still gets played on live, halo 2 is still on top of live games played.

None the less, I don't like Halo, simply due to the fact Im not a fps-fan, yet i still own both xbox'es. there really is more on it then just fps. Some of the best western RPG's for instance, and it seems x360 is continuing that legacy.
