I got a perfectly working psp here, only thing: the backlight doesnt work, so you can only see the screen under a very bright light.

I already soldered the amp for the backlight but it didnt help. i read 5volt of power at the backlight pins, But it needs 33volt.

what can i do to fix this? anyone can help me? i'm willing to send you my motherboard if you think you can fix this.

It has to be something with a multiplier ic or something, but i dont know where it is located :(

Good luck

*edit*
Why did you solder the amp anyway? just making sure the connection wasn't bad?

yes, i wanted to make sure the connection was ok.

i got 2 lcd screen here which work fine in another psp.
the only problem is that this motherboard that i have dont give enough voltage to the backligt to work.

ahhh ok yeah thought that it was just the backlight broken by your post
but your problem is a different story all together >_<
that IS going to take alot of work =/ anyway you can find a PSP schematic that somebody has tossed together? if not, maybe while you find out about your PSP you can make some sort of PSP mainboard part identifiier schematic =)

Good luck none the less

Did you ever find what component steps the power up from the 3.9v at the fuse to the 33v at the connector? Or a work around?

cheers

no i didnt succeed, but the motherboard got underwater so it was not repairable.

i already threw it in the garbage bin.
