Rumor: MGS4 Making its way to 360?

EGM thinks its possible for Konami's MGS4 to make its way over to the 360. With Sony's game division reportedly hurtin' real bad, could the exclusivity on the Playstation platform erode?

While most were in awe of the Halo 3 goodness let forth today, little attention was given to the fact that on the same cover that adorns Master Chief are the words “Metal Gear Solid 4 on 360?” This may not be as big of a news item as Halo 3 but is still worth a mention. With Sony literally bleeding dry financially it would make sense for developers like Kojima, who have the option to go multi-platform, to do just that. There is a question mark next to the teasers but I am still interested to know why EGM thinks this might happen.

If the article in the mag had any fact to it whatsoever, it would not be listed at the bottom of the stories. My 360 won't get its hopes up on this sad specualtion.

im taking this with a grain of salt until hideo makes a statement but if it turned true imagine how much of a slap in the face that would be to sony. Not because its no longer exclusive but because of all the statements they made in regards to sony and there bdray format. I believe it was "no way this game would fit on a standard dvd9 disc". But again Im taking this with a grain of salt as it doesnt matter what system it comes out for to me seeing as i'll have all of them.

I don't place much faith in rumour, but I can't see why it can't be easily multi platform (maybe not wii so much due to the extra work needed on downgrading the graphics) for PS3, 360 and PC. It would make sense financially and it's not like Konami are part of sony, or that they havn't done so before (MGS 1+2 were on more than just PS). I always find it odd that large 3rd party publishers would have any format exclusive titles, beyond earlier release on certain consoles (due to being paid for early exclusivity). It would have to make financial sense to sell to as many customers as possible, easily making as much if not more than what console manufacturers pay for them to be exclusive, or so I would have thought.

I suspect the PS3 fanboys will have somthing to say such as that it's too big to fit on DVD etc, even though it is no doubt not, just all the usuall extras that come with MGS games would put it over a DVD9, so it would be the usuall game disk and extra's disk. Or my still personal favorite, without blue ray it won't be able to run in HD for whatever reason. Lol just starting a fire here, I love fanboy responses :)

this wouldn't surprise me with companies like square enix saying they don't want to over support the PS3 because they aren't so sure it is going to be dominate. until something appears to have a huge edge we could see alot of games go multiplatform. and its not as if konami hasn't done this with mgs games in the past, mgs originally came out for ps2, but then it later came out on xbox, the twin snakes a remake of mgs1 came out to gamecube of all consoles. don't think mgs4 couldn't go multiplatform that would be naive, especially considering this is going to be pretty early in the console wars, which means installed base for a single console won't be that high compared to say the ps2. game companies need game sales, if the installed base isn't as much there then they usually do try and go multiplatform, which can double the installed base and leads to more game sales.

Lol, fan boy ism at it's finest. I love fan boys, they remind me so much of politicians, nothing overly constuctive to say, just defense of the chosen format and insult the opposition. Anyway, the point is, Konami is not part of sony so they could release any of their games on any format they wished. They could release on every format except for PS3 if they wanted to. So it has nothing to do with 360 owners wanting a Sony Produced game, which of course would be an exclusive. It's about the potential possibility of a 3rd party publisher producing a game for the 360 that currently appears to be a PS3 exclusive, much the same as they have done in the past for other seemingly exclusive games.

Ding Ding Ding! This man just said the smartest thing I've heard for a long time. lol. I think MG died with MGS2, MGS3 could have been a revival, but in my eyes it didn't happen. This isn't news, I've been saying it for a year that MGS4 will be on the 360, ever since Kojima said he liked the 360.

I laugh at all the Sony guys on here that are accusing everyone that is saying this wouldn't be a bad idea, and **** of being fanboys. It's not them saying "NO!!!!!" when it comes to a port of one of the best games PS3 is getting. You never heard "Us MS fanboys" screaming no at the fact that PS3 is getting a port of Ninja Gaiden, even if it IS only slightly updated Black, it still has Ninja Gaiden's story.

Well, the thing is, that both S-E and Konami have gone to Microsoft about doing games and have made remarks regarding the PS3 and the 360 without even cosulting Microsoft of Sony about it. So if MGS4 comes to the 360, it won't be because M$ is dishing out money, but because they know they'll get more money then making it only on a 700 dollar console, or because they want to broaden their horizens in case Blue-ray or the PS3 doesn't turn out to be anything, like someone else in this thread stated earlier.

On a side note, anyone else thinking about buying that issue for the Halo 3 shtuff alone? I think I will, talk about a kick ass cover too. Maybe it means they'll be more then one Spartan in Halo 3, or maybe it's just a Multiplayer pic.
