How To Get Around Xbox 360's Country Lock - Hackers need not apply!

A rather simple method of getting around the Xbox 360's downloadable content lock has come to life. All you have to do is go to the official Xbox website and make a new gamertag with a different e-mail address, then just set your country tag to either USA or Japan - pure genious or what?


Go online to xbox.com and register a new gamertag with an email address not associated with any previous account. Then make sure you set your country to either Japan or America—perhaps making one tag for each. Then when that's done, go on your Xbox 360 and choose "recover gamertag" to grab the info from this tag onto your 360. Now you can see all the Japanese games you've been missing out on. – Jason Chen

Only if the game is region free in the first place. And if you have done the firmware mod to your dvd drive.

There is no way of making a game region free. It breaks the signature.

We're talking about Xbox Live Market Place games though, and that doesn't require a modded DVD firmware. I suppose my question is are Marketplace games region free once they're downloaded?

If your region is Germany, you can download Saints Row BRD (Bundesrepublik Deutschland) version. This one however is cut.

So I changed it to America and now I can download the uncut version.

btw MS should finally add Luxembourg to the country list. We don't have any censorship.
