Full change XMB names of Devhook 2.71 Emulation

So here we go with the tutorial for change all your names and errors of the XMB menu ass well of the Memorystick. Errors from the XMB and errors from the Memorystick are in two different plugins. I already say in the other topic that every language have different hex codes so I have changed my whole Dutch tutorial to a Englisch version ;-). I gonna learn how to edit the Topmenu_plugin, Sysconf_plugin and the Game_plugin OK but talked enough now the tutorial. Remember that this is for Devhook and NOT for 1.5, the rco files from 2.50 and 1.50 are different configured so the names and pics are ath other places. Enjoyy IT :)

What we need ??

- RCO files from a 2.50 firmware for Devhook (they are half decrypted)
- A Topmenu_plugin.rco, Sysconf_plugin.rco & Game_plugin.rco
- A Hex editing program
- A healthy brain

Change the Topmenu_plugin.rco

1) open the Topmenu_plugin and search in the left side for the hex code 0004240

2) From this code your Englisch names of the XMB starting, it always start with UMD

3) The hex code where it’s stops and beginning another language is 0004e10

4) Now you now where you find the names so you can start to edit the names

5) So you have at line 0004890 the name PHOTO so you can change it to PICS or something

6) Pay attention that if you want Memorystick in HDD change e.g. 2gig must you with spaties to work because you PSP menu does not reflect differently half

7) Example "....M.e.m.o.r.y. .s.t.i.c.k" in "...H.D.D. .2.g.i.g. . . . ."!

8) If you do not place now the spaties behind D. then he 2gig will not reflect in your XMB menu

9) You can add spaties and you must you not to the correct structure the code, love as long as you but no longer signs added

10) For change the errors search between the start and end code (this is only for errors of XMB)

11) Check the picture for a thing that I changed to show how its work

12) This wanted tell I still just as: Because you no longer use topmenu_plugin from 2.50 you the RSS icons will not see in your XMB. You can use them still ordinary but the icons themselves are there not (2.50 RSS still no had therefore). Check the bottom screen just as for clarity

Change the Sysconf_plugin.rco

1) In this plugin you can change things like: softwareversion, about PSP, and the pics of ABOUT PSP option

2) The beginning code of the Englisch language is 000221e0 and the end is 00025560 (begins always with NICKNAME)

3) So now you can search after things like ABOUT PSP & softwareversion and other things of the Systeminstall option names

4) Here you must now that if you whant change the ABOUT PSP in your own name do not use a – of the code is incorrect and your devhookw ill crash

5) You must search for yourself what where is because all explain that is to much

6) So here I gonna thel how you can change the pics of the ABOUT PSP option

7) There are 5 pics that you can change of this option so I gonna set the hex codes and the pics

8) So here we go with all the pics

15) So here are the pics and the hex codes inclusive. Remember that the pics that you gonna use are NOT bigger than this pics size. Shorter is NO problem

16) thus think 2 time after for your something will change and think this is for devhook so your PSP can NOT brick.

Change the Game_plugin.rco

1) This plugin is for errors that come from the memorystick, so if you start a 1.5 eboot my psp say: This version of Devhook can not run 1.5 homebrew

2) The Englisch start hex are 0002960 and the end are 00030a0

3) So search for the errors and simpley change the names for what yo whant

4) You can change any error code that is running straight from the Memorystick

5) D’ont use a larger hex code then the original code of the plugin is not good to run

6) If you change a name and a shorter name in the place can move convert you the rest simply to points

Disable the network update option

If you really wanna disable the Network Update option you pust search for the Update_plugin.prx in the 2.71/flash0/vsh/module/ here you find that and just remove that PRX and its Disabled ;-)

You made a typo "Susconf_plugin.rco" not "Sysconf_plugin.rco" at the start ;)
As well as losing the RSS icon, you lose some of the new feature text under settings. The PSP will freeze if you select them.
