What do I do with the file? Have never seen .elf before...
You execute it like any other program. I personally would like to see optimization than extra loading sources.

How do I put the SNES roms on the hard drive? What method should I use?
I tried making a directory with Launchelf, but SNES station doesn't seem to recognize it...

I dug around a bit, and it seems SNES Station only lists some of the partitions on the HDD... So I had to trim my roms down to 200MB and stick them on one of the partitions that did show up on the list (I believe it was the __boot one.) They work fine now... Other than the fact that almost all the games don't run smoothly :)

Yup, to date most or all ems are not capable of fully utilize the upgraded hardware of the current gen and quite possibly next gen as well. Unfortunately, PCs are the only hw that can handle ems due to a OS that can be changed. But, even that has its limitations.
Man I'm bored....
I'm not sure what exactly you were trying to say there, but yes unfortunately PS2 never did get much in the way of homebrew. I think there was the SNES9X port and the port of a Genesis emulator like DGen or something, neither was optimized enough to run at real speed, atleast not with sound.
I think it was easily over-shadowed by the Xbox homebrew scene which got excellent ports of emulators for nearly every classic system you could want to play. Still if PS2 got a high quality SNES or Genesis emulator I'd use it, esspecially if it could load roms from a USB storage device.
