I've been trying to run back-up games for a bit now, burning with different software and different dvd-medias, but the cube doesn't seem to read the discs at all, no matter what bios I install. It still runs my original gamediscs.

The various bios's I've transferred to slots 1-2 (Or in the case of GCOS, 1-4) of my Qoob are: 1.3c , 1.3a, and GCOS 1.5. I've set the mode to B.

When I start my Cube, the bios pops up, and attemps to read the disc. It spins up and seems to work for a few seconds, then it just starts spinning and rewinding, until it gives me a "Could not read disc" error, or somesuch.

I've used Nero and ImgBurn, without altering any settings in either one.

Edit: Oh, and I let a proffesional firm put the chip in, so I couldn't tell you anything about what was done during soldering.

Are you using ridata dvd's?

I tried like 10 different brands for the heck of it and only found Ridata to work everytime....

Nope, I'm not.. and I just read a thread that suggested that very same thing an hour or so ago :) So I just ordered a pack or two of Ritek's , should be able to tell ya all if that was the problem next week when they arrive.

To run backups u need to adjust the pot some people are lucky and dont have to but most of the time adjusting the pot is the way to go http://modthatcube.pxn-os.com/
