I've recently reconnected my entire network, which now includes the following:

An ADSL modem conntected with:

SMC 54Gb wireless router connected with:
Xbox (Xecuter 3 CE (X3 and XBMC as dash) (wired)
My Laptop (wireless)
Netgear Hub (wired) connected with:
Conceptronic NAS 250Gb (MY-NAS41 / Loader 067) (wired)
My Girlfriend's PC (wired)
My Pc (wired)

Everything works like a charm, using the NAS as media storage for MP3, Xvids and DVD's. The only thing that's still a bit tricky is getting the DVD's to run properly, but that's another issue.

Now what I would like to know, is it possible to run my games from the NAS through a SMB share? The reason I would like to do this is because I currently have everything stored on the network and don't need to switch media anymore. If I could do the same for the games, then I could build the Xbox a cabinet and hide it from sight. Not that I don't like the design, but we've got a pretty modern interior and I just don't like the devices to be out in the open.

Thanks for the info.

short answer
NO

you could host the files on the nas and use xbmc to transfer them over
but really, go buy a big HD and put them there

long answer. the xbox can only run one thing at once.
how do you expect it to run a smb client at the same thing as a game

I am getting the NSLU2 (NAS by using USB Drives) and thought I would play my games off my 500 GB USB hard drive.

But I cannot even run a game on a samba share off my PC.

If you can't run off samba, can you run them off FTP?

Maybe someone made a laucher that can do this. The PSP has USB/Net hosts and it can run a network/usb client and a game...
