yes i have a mod chip, but i dont know what dev1/dev2 support is. i have tried using someones manual on how to do it... and i have created and copied the files to my memory card using gamebreaker, but when i try boot up from my original ps1 game, it is supposed to load a menu... instead it just loads the ps1 game? can anyone help?

Which modchip did you have?
DEVolution MODE 1 : Load Files like homebrewapps from your memory card
DEVolution Mode 2: Load Files like homebrewapps from you harddrive.
You can΄t launching it with the modchip when you have installed it on the wrong directory.

im not sure.. its a messiah something. ive had it for approx 4-5 years if that helps.
are you familiar with the procedure that im tryin to use?
heres the link... http://www.exploitstation.com/articles/codebreaker_exploit.php
ive done everything they have said to... and right at the bottom... these r the files ive added to my mc...
· HDLOADER HDLoader Allows one to copy games into internal HDD and
play.
· LAUNCH LaunchELF Associates button presses with ELF files to launch.
· PS2KL04 Similar to LaunchELF.
· PS2MEDIA PS2 Reality Media Player Plays DivX & MP3s.
· PS2MENU PS2Menu File Manager and Launcher.

since you have messiah, i believe you can make a boot disc with any launchelf program such as myps2 or launchelf. you can add more .elf in that boot disc such as the HDloader, but in case you want to add more elf w/o making another disc, the launchelf programs do support certain usb sticks.
i dont believe you need to follow that procedure from that link because it appears its for non modchip users.
