View Full Version : HDD does not enable in SOCOM2

What can I do to make a non-Sony hdd work with Socom 2? I have a harddrive installed with HD Loader, yet when I go into Socom 2 to enable the HDD, it says that my harddrive is not installed. I've been looking around, yet I don't see anyone with my problem.

if you have a dms3 you can use atad patching but other than that theres no other way.

Can't you patch the ATAD file on the Socom disk image before you give it to HDLoader?

Yeah, you need to patch the atad.irx file of your Socom 2 disc in order for it to detect your non-sony drive.

I went to the site and 1 couldnt find the link to patch socom. 2 dont know if u need to have a modded ps2 for this to work 3 does this work only on PAL or does it work on NTSC too.......... I have HD ADVANCE and cant get the non $ony hd to recognize the game...... I need thid to be able to download the new socom 2 maps .... thanx

2 you need a way to boot the dvd-r you burn after patching so a mod or swap discs are needed

3 it works on nstc only, this is not for hdadvance it patches the game to use the hd itself like the original

awesome ps2........ I am trying to patch the game tomorrow...but with hdadvance and a fliptop I am able to copy urned cd's to my hard drive so ... isnt that what u r talking about when u say swap disc......... so long as I use the flip and dont open the tray it copies...maybe I misunderstand u....thanx again for the patch.

no your talking about installing the game to the HD using HDadvance or HDLoader thats not what this is for, it is for booting the DVD-r and letting itself install to the HD so u can use it off the HD but not in HDLoader u need to boot the DVD-r but it will load quicker because the game installs to the hd.
