Good to Talk: Beup v0.3 Rev 2 & DSAim 0.01E Released For DS

<a href="http://forums.maxconsole.net/member.php?u=82469" target="_blank">HtheB</a> has released an impressive new version of his messaging client 'Beup' for the PSP. Lots of cool new features have been added.

New Features

- Selectable avatars from card.
- Shows typing users.
- Shows date of last message (and a clock!)
- Emoticons on display names / text.
- 302 xfer for @msn.com accounts.
- Select presence before logging in.
- Option to auto connect.
- Stand by when lid is closed.
- Scrollable text in chat tabs.

I'm satisfied with this enough to make the first release. Make sure you read the instructions!

This version is still very limited. I've only tested it with my linksys router, and a few AIM usernames. I hope that you are able to log in. We'll see.

Isn't Beup made by kevinc? I believe HtheB just made a few changes to the graphics and helped with debugging.

It's also for the Nintendo DS, not for the PSP. :rolleyes:
And yes, the program is by kevinc.

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can store email addresses on BEUP rather than keep typing them in all the time.

I guess that'll come in later features though.

AFAIK it can save 1 email only.

Hey Asked HtheB And I Got The Skin, It Seems Only Works With M3, If Anyone Can Get it Working On Anything Else Let Me Know, Pretty Sure The M3 Will Pick It Up Right Away, But For The G6, No Idea... Let Us Know M3 Community lol, Hope This Helps

i've downloaded latest beup and it has 2 files? One works just fine and the other(something with rein in the filename) won't start. Also it does not have any readme with it so i can't identify it... What is it?

EDIT: does it remember your e-mail and password? I have to tap it every time i use it, though i'm the only user. How do i have to close the program properly? Just disconnect and then turn off the unit??

i got a file, 96 x 96 p, png file format, about 9kb of size, i put it simply on my card and i tried it in the folder, where beup is, but it won't work =/

Didn't work for me, does it have to be named specially too?

have mine 96pixels X 96pixels in png format. Tried in root directory, tried in beup's own directory, can't see, says "(none)"

Thought Ya Just Write To The Card...I Know The Size Has To Be 96x96 and png...Maybe Ya Have To Make folder In there, then Put All The Display Items In There...no Idea. Gonna Try To Ask HtheB.

thx, avatars work fine, but the emoticons won't work for me. i used some trillian smilies, converted them to bmp with heigth at 11p, but doesn't work...

In The Vid For The BeUp, On YouTube, You See Before He Loads The App, A Windows Vista Skin...It's Supposilty Loads With A M3, But The File Is A Weird Type, Don't Think It Works With G6, But HtheB Said It Works With M3...So If Anyone Can Get It Working, Let Us Know

I'm still struggling to the avatars to work. the avatar folder is empty. do some come 'free' with 0.3ver5 or do i have to generate my own & import - but where do i import them to? I have seen reference to having to make a directory (is this the same as folders?) called beup/avatars which presumably you put in the root of the memory card? So many questions, so little time...later

by the way did you get all the avatars and emoticons to work? i'm not so dumb, but i couldn't.

i had a directory like this:

ROOT(where all the folders are)
ROOT/beup
ROOT/beup/avatars(i had here 1 .png file 96x96)
ROOT/beup/emoticons

maybe it's because i load it directly from M3 shell? i tried to load it through the latest moonshell but it hang in the beginning. how do u use it?

Has anyone gotten DSaim or Beup to work on an EZflash 4 Lite? If so...please let me know if you did anything special...and what your process was? Thank you.
