Hi,

I just recently installed the Qoob Pro into a GC that i have, but i am having a problem. After install the chip it turned the GC on and but the system would boot the fans cut on and the the lights on both the QPro and th GC turn on but nothing else and my TV says at a blue screen which is what i show when there is now signal. i am pretty confident in my soldering skills i have also installed a Viper extreme mod-chip with no problem. also i am pretty sure that nothing it crossed because when i disconnect the QPro from the GC while leaving the wires hooked up to it, it boots to the GC main BIOS with no problems and i am able to play games but as soon as i turn it off and put the QPro back on it shines the lights and turns on the fan but thats all, and just make sure that the heatsync wasnt the problem i turn it on without it and got the same problem. I've done everything i can think of, I've even flashed and erased every block on the card. PLEASE HELP!! any suggestions.

Will

I got exactly the same problem as you (Qoob SX though) , but I'm not really sure what fixed it (Sorry  ). I really thought I'd killed my Cube! I did resolder the wires under the heatsink to make sure that they weren't touching it, I also made the exposed wire shorter to minimize the chance of it touching the heatsink (and anything else). I opened and closed my Cube about 4 times before I managed to get the thing to work. I tidied up my wires as well and made things look a little neater in there, I had my chip positioned so that the blue wires were closer to the fake disc drive connector thing (not sure what it's called), and it wasn't such a stretch. Another thing, first time I opened and closed my Cube the drive didn't fix down properly, I think everything was a little squashed in there so make sure that everything fits properly!

That's basically what I did before I could get the thing to work, not sure if anything up there will help.

I read another case where the Gamecube appeared to be dead and it was just a loose connection between the fake disc drive connector thing, but in his case I don't think the LED was on.

You replaced the default Bios on Qoob pro for one of the last releases right? the default Bios on Qoob proo, won't make the GC boot at all.

Put a piece of electrical tape under the wire on the board, and a piece over the wire to make an insulation sandwich. This prevents the exposed part of the wires from grounding out on the Heat Sink or the circut board. I was having problems with my installation and after I did this it worked perfectly. Also make sure the black wire is bridging corectly.

first check to make sure all solder joints are good - another problem I seen (and fixed for people) was when they bridged the two points. They where messy and connected three points. Its best to bridge the two points with a short wire rather then with solder. If you us long leads you can add a butt connector at this point so if you have to pull the mod chip. if you just pull the chip from the harness you still have the two connected point (which can cause problems) you just seperate the connector.

second do not use bios 1.3c it's unstable for most people, use 1.3a it can be found at this link below

I had same problem what u need to do is put tape on the yellow wire under the heat sink as the heat sink shorts the wire.
