i was wondering if there was a way to fix the roms failure to load, such as Earthbound 0, and Dragon Warrior 4. both would load, but halt after a short amount of time. i realize that Dragon Warrior 4 is the biggest NES rom to date, at 1mb, but shouldnt the DS have enough ram to support it? any ideas welcome.

Have you tried different dumps of it?

Keep in mind that NES DS is based off a very old version of PocketNES, and as such it has compatibility issues that PocketNES fixed long ago.

Just curious if anyone else has had an issue with save states with this on their DS. Any game I play I have this issues where if I have a save state and I go to click save, 70% of the time, it will act as if my stylus was pushing "Load"
Instead and all the work I did is now gone. Im using an AceKard 2 with my DS Lite.

The touchscreen code is rather off, yes. Interestingly, I've heard that it may depend on the device you're using, since someone tested the same NES DS build with a slot-2 Supercard and a slot-1 R4 and found the touchscreen to work much better on the Supercard.

My recommendations: first, get the latest official version of NES DS, which has slightly better touchscreen controls. You can get it from the GBATemp download center. Secondly, when pressing on the touchscreen, make sure you press and release quickly. The faster you release, the less chance there is that it will register the wrong touch location.

Also, there's a modified version out there that uses button combinations for certain actions like saving and loading savestates, which may be best for you so that you don't even have to use the touchscreen for your savestates. Get it at http://www.pocketheaven.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=6191
