Hi
ive seen on Codejunkies website where the new codes are placed (on the right) theyres some test DS things.
It has a test name and test (M) codes so on, does anyone here know if this means Datel have made a code based Action Replay for the DS.
Just to confirm a DS code based Action Replay is comming:
Dear Sir
Further to your email yes a code based system is now nearing completion
I would suggest checking the website early next week.

Hmm knowing CodeJunkies it wouldn't be safe. A lot of their products malfunction. I had a Action Replay for my GBA, and now it doesn't work. I would rely on Codebreaker and Gameshark products.

I wonder if it's gonna be a brand new product. Or just some sort of update to that new thing for the DS they released recently (that works how passkeys work)

Well, is it up on the site yet? I wonder is someone uploads it, if you would be able to transfer the codes with a Mini SD.

im not sure, i just got told from datel that its in the making, i recon the DS AR will be a boot flash (like media dock) which then loadsoff the HD and game codes via inserting the game from the GBA slot.
i think it will be just a usual .cht file with codes on, usually are but i hope this will be made compatible with Media Dock.
and wonder will it eventually get a game trainer feature like the GBC, GBA and so on.

it wont work with flash cards as of yet, someone need to make a rom of it and most probably hack it as.
DS AR boots you cart when inserted
Flash's Boot ROMS installed (also require Max Overload to boot)
So the Datel AR need changing to load, select codes, select rom and then somehow automatically boot Max Overload to boot your rom.
Personally i doubt youll see DS AR hacked for a while yet.
Ive ordered mine today to arrve tommorow, tho its blinding me as i can see what codes they have on their site so i dont know if it will have any codes for my games and if theyre usefull.

"You can also rename the “max overload.nds” to “bootme.nds” so that Max Overload is run automatically."
http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=27470
Maybe this could be the answer to booting it automatically
Edit: Retroboy now that you have the Action Replay could you tell us what it is like. And would you suggest on buying one?

guess what, i dont have one :( datel said they have them in stock and guess what. its not even been made yet.
I wouldnt recomend this to any one because:
1) not codes
2) only updatable via pc with internet
3) you have to remove the AR (power on)and insert your game which isnt recomended by the manuals because it can corrupt your data.
4) i now have to wait 4 weeks to get it
so after all this id wait and see if someone cracks it first, this is the last thing im ever going to buy off datel nothing but sh!t products and false advertising.

Ok thanks for telling me
Edit: You say not codes but that wouldn't be a problem would it? There will soon be a trainer kit (something like that) that enables you to create your own codes for it. So the files are just codes bunched together i think? The main problems for me are getting it to work on roms and not being able to view the cheats on codejunkies. Other than that i think it will be a great product! Now for the waiting:o
Edit: Now it says "Out of stock". Now why couldn't they of said thay in the first place.

After emailing datel this product is blx.
the AR isnt code based (trainers) they dont mention you need a pc and internet to update tho they say its easily updated and dont require you to buy a new one as new games comeout, pretty hard to do if you dont have a pc nor internet.
The trainer software isnt going to be available with Action Replay, and i very much doubt it will be simple (experienced hackers not for "num nutts") can train the games OHHHH sorry did i say games LOL stupid me, Train roms which remember the laws, its illegal to own a rom unless you have the origional game (well most places its 100% illegal).
Anyways im assuming this trainer maker will be compatible with Max Media dock, train your rom and probably patches with the rom.

Yup, Retroboy, this thing is starting to sound more and more like a big steaming pile of Datel crap.
Glad I never fell for anything they were selling...mostly due to reading up on them at numerous forums.

What i don't get is if it isn't code based why are they stating on there own website that it features this all new code engine? What is this code engine anyway?
Edit: Why cant they make cheat cartridges like they did in the older generations. The best one i bought was for gameboy color (colour), It was xploder and used Xploder, Gameshark and Action Replay CODES. But now all they seem to be doing is "powersaves".

I don't get what your problems with it are. They've been saying right from the beginning that this is the only way they can get it to work.
Here's what i'm gathering that it does:
-the main cart loads the app into memory
-when you take it out (since it's no longer running from the card, it won't damage your system), then replace it with the actual game card (it's like taking a game out of the system during the built in DS menu. and that doesn't harm the carts either)
-it then detects the cart you put in (similar to how the gamecube AR can detect game ID codes) and loads up the menu ONLY with the codes for that game
-you then choose what you want to turn on (similar to a trainer i'm sure), and then boot
How else do you think the program was going to work?
As for updating codes online. How else did you expect to get new codes? Even if you had to type them in manually, you still need to get them from SOMEWHERE. And that somewhere would be the internet, since there isn't anywhere else. Having the ability to download everything immediately is much nicer anyways. Since it saves you the hassle of possibly screwing up a code as you put it in.
As for the waiting thing. I'm sure as with most Datel products, they SAY it's coming out, when in reality it's only in limited supply. Then eventually they make a 'real' launch date for the thing, and release it then.
Either way, i don't see myself buying the product. I haven't bought a Datel product since the gamecube action replay, and that was AGES ago. I'm just hoping someone hacks some form of cheat system for the DS, and go from there.

Well, they can't do anything with the PSP due to it being UMD-based and Sony's not really going to license them for that.
But that's OK because there's a homebrew Cheat Device for the PSP that allows you to play around with finding and using your own codes in some PSP games.
With the DS it's harder due to the AES encryption and the fact that the GBA slot can't really access the DS card/functions without it being FlashMe'd or passkey'd. It's a hardware issue. But I'm sure the flashcart hackers out there will come up with something.
Expect to see more 'trainers' come out than anything else.

Yeah,I bought an M3 Adapter ($120.00+) just so I could use dipstar and it is still a pain getting codes for it... it does work though..I have used it on NSMB and thats about it...you have to create your own codes using an emulator (which doesnt support about 90% of DS games) with AR DS,hopefully, will be codes that can be decrypted... but what I have been reading so far...it may not be all that easy..you may not be able to see what the actual codes are now...am I right about this...??? It may very well be that you download codes direct from datel using one of their download client type programs like with AR MAX DUO and wont be able to look up the codes on their website. I ordered a AR DS direct from Codejunkies website (BIG Mistake...LOL) I may get it within the next 6 months...LOL...

i feel datel need to change their box, because we now know that AR is trainer, not CODES.
i aperciate people try (not datel because i know this site had the first ds trainers now datel have them in a product) but the problem is ds carts shouldnt be inserted/removed whilst the power is turned on.
If the product was as stated on the box "CODES" then you should be able to pick up a mag and input the code with no internet needed, BUT YOU NEED INTERNET!
Im just going to give time and hope the trainer maker (Which ive no idea how it can trane your origiona DS cart for codes other than ROMS) is easy to use, with the known/unkown searches plus activator value codes.
Ill wait and give more info when it arrives, if its easy enough ill be making trainers and adding them to my site.

They will be a Action Replay (thats it) that only allows you to use codes.
Action Replay PRO will be like above but will come with the trainer program, visit www.codejunkies.com all your info is there.
If the normal AR is 19.99quid then i assume the pro will be 29.99quid, sodding keyboard doesnt have a GBP sign :(

Action Replay DS Pro = Action Repaly DS + Trainer Toolkit
Edit: Retroboy can you see the codes on codejunkies like me? Cause some people an me on 1 pc cant see them
Thats a fault with datel, they havent done the easy thing, Game name, then when you click it it tells you what cheats theyre is, so basically youll buy a new game and wont be able to know if theyres any good codes for that game.
The cheats are done as xml files and can only be accessed by purchasing the Action Replay and using the software that comes with it.
Personally I think you should be able to see if the codes are usefull before purchasing the AR, after all you dont want to buy it under the influence that its got loads of cheats for your game then you find out its only got infinite cash and no infinite energy (which some AR codes are for other consoles)

LOL, i think they want easy money with less effort.
Well i cant wait, ill buy the pro version and datel can wave good bye as ill make my own codes, and as im a gamer ill hack the game fully, not simple inf nrg, cash stuff like that as many people get stuck later on in the game so if i find someone is stuck on something, eg kill a boss or find so many coins, ill make a code for it.
I do that now with my Dreamcast, many people was stuck on Final Egg so i created a one hit kill for it, which datel never, they only had inf rings, lives freeze timer.
And Zelda MM for N64 i decided to make a Day Mod code, skip from day to night, day one to two to 3 and fast forward time, rewind time, because someone liked it on the GC and wanted it for the N64, so i made it.
I think datel could do with employing Gamers to make the codes so users can benifit more to help them complete there game(s).

True, true. I just wish someone would code an AR clone homebrew we could run from the flashcart.
Or patch/hack the crap out of this AR cart to allow it to run from a flashcart.
Currently Dipstar is only compatible with a limited number of flashcarts, and not the most popular ones either.

To be honest i think it will be done, i know datel dont buy the games, hence employing hackers who hack the consoles to play backups and then make the codes, the ps2/GC are made from modded consoles which i can make my self as i have a modded consoles, but their too far from my pc and no cable will reach :(
what ive found out is this device plugs into your GBA port and connects to your pc and you play/train your game.
All they need to do is make a rom of the device and get it to run along with your rom so you can train it.
I hope its possible.

prob because US get games before UK, and maybe the reason most game downloads are US so datel will get them copy them and hack them and prob simply have a region code convertor.

My order status is the same "out of stock" I live in the US,maybe the UK release is earlier because of course the AR is made in the UK...guess this would make sense.. will Datel automatically ship it once in stock or do I have to put my order in again? I have had it on order for about a week now. Could someone post a download for the game manager software so we can get an idea of what it looks like?

FYI: All of the UNENCRYPTED codes will be viewable when you get the product.... after the installation you can open the XML file and see every code we've hacked in it's unencrypted form.
Why do you order from CodeJunkies.com? Just get it from BestBuy, EB Games, Wal-Mart, etc.... it's easier.

can someone help me out? i am from the UK and i ordered the action replay DS from codejunkies website today, when i payed for it i received no confirmation email after i ordered, will i need to call them tomorrow? and i read on this forum that you can track your order? how can you do that because i don't see any order history on their website. and if you choose the free delivery how long will it take to arrive?
don't worry i found the order tracking on their website eventually. and when i ordered the order confirmation was sent to a very old email that i can't even remember the password for anymore, but at least i have the order tracking on their website and it was dispatched the same day i ordered it :)

i agree about datels stuff breaking (my cube AR disc has a big crack in the middle, the refused to replace it,) and i agree about them using false advertising, remember when they brought out the gba player for the cube? promising to let you 'create your own codes' it was not easy as it looked and the codes were encrypted aswell, and my GBA game would hang so it was the worst £30 i had ever spent! have you tried calling them? and when did you order your AR? maybe they had none in stock because they completed and dispatched the order the same day that i ordered it. and can anyone tell me how the system works when you download codes? can you have US codes and UK codes in the same codelist? like sonic rush PAL and new super Mario bros US? or will i have to download the whole US codelist/PAL codelist to get the codes that i need? is the system like the powersaves when you log in and you choose what server to download from?

So Im one of the first lot to order, marked as Special Delivery (Next Day) and people who chose free delivery got theirs before me.
They did offer to refund the special delivery, but what diffrence does that make, ill still be waiting ages.
if you don't receive anything in a certain amount of days (like 2 weeks up to a month) call them and as for another one to be sent to you, if they do nothing, complain to trading standards! i didn't have a choice to order from them because my local Argos (both of them) were sold out, GAME didn't have it gamestation didn't have it, not even HMV or any major websites like play.com so i had to order from them, if there was another choice i would order from the other place in a heartbeat on top of that it would have probably been much cheaper from other websites too.

From what I have read, these can be used with Dipstar or at least easily be decrypted if you already have the software that comes with the AR something about being able to see the xml format of the codes. I wasnt able to see the AR codes on Codjunkies website at all period..I dont know how other people were doing it and someone in the gbadev site said he knows how but wants to be an ass about giving out that info.

Sadly, there is so much we can produce every day and the demand is really high at the minute, but it should get better in the next few days. Alternately, you can drop me a line at fabrice.faure@datel.co.uk with your reference number, name and address and i'll see where your order is at (i guess you ordered from the States ?) and if i can grab one from the production line for you, or if you want to cancel it.
It is very disappointing to hear your misfortune with the Duo version. I am deeply sorry for any inconvenience occured, but not unlike any hardware based product you cannot avoid a certain percentage of defects. However the issue you are pointing out seems related a wrong batch to me, which is rare but can happen. I can see if we can send you a replacement, although i can't promise anything.
However ARDS hardware is damn solid.
Action Replay, unlike the Duo iteration, is a real cheat device which you should consider if you decide using codes on your games.
We have worked really hard on this product so it offers any customer the best fonctionality possible at a bargain price. Hence non encrypted codes and the trainer toolkit as an add-on, because believe it or not, it's a niche market and we will not make as much money out of it as if we were releasing both products as a single unit/not releasing the toolkit and encrypting the codes. You can also update any hardware/software for free.
What we really tried this time around is to offer the best cheat device we could for any of you guys that wish to hack your own codes and for those that simply want to use them.
It is that simple you can create a RSS feed or an XML file, publish it on your your website and any of your friends can access the codes directly from the Action Replay PC application at same time as you'd get codes from Codejunkies.
I was a customer prior entering the company, so i know how some of you might feel, but what i'm trying to say is that we really have taken in consideration our mistakes and tried to sort out a kick ass game enhancer that would appeal to everybody, and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we did enjoy releasing a real cheat device for you guys once again.

Kind Regards,
Thanks for the concern. I bought my DuO at my neighborhood "Best Buy" US early Spring 06 (dont know exact date) I will put this in writing also via email to you to make it official. If anything it would be nice to just get a price break on the AR DS I ordered and forget the Duo replacament,if not anything get the AR DS for free w/ shipping since the DUO cost more. Here is what happened.
1. DUO #1 plugged in,worked first time, then USB started failing, took it back to Best Buy and they tested and got the same result. Got a replacement. BTW I can probably get the store number etc.
2. Replacement DUO,plugged in and would work, hmm something about the PC software not picking it up...I am not very detailed on this because it has been awhile... then the DS wouldnt read it,then it would and maybe the software and...intermittent things going on...made me crazy... again they tested and had negative results.
3. Returned and got replacement again (should have got a cash return and went somewhere else by now) more of the same as 2 and 3. but then nothing... I didnt want to go back to Best Buy again..although I should have....and that was it for the AR DUO
can anyone help me out with the drivers? I'm trying to connect my DS to the computer, every time i try to find the drivers when it's searching nothing happens, it just stays there? does anyone know the location of the drivers and how to get windows to recognise it? I'm using windows xp pro.

Id recomend installing the AR software before installing a driver for the card, xp have many drivers like it describes when the intitial installation of xp, with upto date drivers to ensure you computer is "Just Working".
most of the drivers ive had off xp dont let me take full advantage of the device.
The AR cart may require certain actions, where xp is picking it up as a portable device.
It should be fine tho, but in future id install the official software first before inserting the device as the software has the correct drivers for the device.
yeah i did install the software first then the drivers, it was just a problem installing them, now the drivers work fine now. the only thing i had to do was put the action replay DS in PC mode so that the files can transfer, also there was the firmware update too.

where do i write dipstar? in the ds area due to the .ds extension or do i write it in the gba area due to it being a gba file?
You've to write to your memory card in Gba mode.
But you've to patch your rom with m3dip.exe that locate in the dipstar folder before you can use that rom with the dipstar.
I think the English instruction that come with dipstar 5.11 is very good.
you can follow the instruction in that file.
I can't test the ar code with my ds right now coz my m3 has been sold.
I wait for the m3 lite but I don't know much about it right now.

Wrtite it to the root of your SD/CF card using the M3 game manager. Then to use it on a game. Write the game to your card using the M3 Game manager and make sure to check the "Enable Cheat" function. Boot your M3 in your ds and select the dipstar file and then the game and hold down L while game is booting..this will take you into the dipstar codes entrie screen. Codes can be assigned to a,b,select, start, left or right pad button. Assign your codes to whatever button and reboot the DS.,choose the dipstar file and then the game and this time hold down the button you assigned the codes to while the game boots.

I think the M3 game manager automatically patches it now when you enable the cheat function and yes I forgot to mention that the dipstar file needs to be written as a GBA file using the M3 manager.
It seem like it's not working for me after i use m3 manager to patch the game file. so after I patch game with m3 manager. I also patch it with m3dip. and it's working. :)

What version game manager are you using? I am using the latest although version 2.0 seems to be the best one so far in my opinion.

Wohoo...I got it working also....you just need to know the dipstar master code...using ndsmas.exe you can find it in one of the Dipstar relases at the gbadev forum.
The last version that i use is 22F.
btw may be I don't know how to use it correctly. That make me have to use m3dip to patch file.
Right now.. according from the AR website.
Some games have master code but the other don't have. -_-"
I wonder why there are some games that don't have master code.
and can we use the master code that AR make...
and.. i try to use ndsmas too but.. It can't find anything.. T_T

Yeah, ndsmas doesnt work on all,I tried it on Mario 64 and didnt get anything but it worked on PacMan World 3 and appearantly you need that Dipstar M code for the Codejunkie codes to work,I didnt have to do any kind of code converting for that game, although I tried the "super Jump" mode....and it slowed down the game and made Pac Man float right out of the game environment...LOL

If I had an extra M3 I would sell it to you. Damn things are expensive though but cheaper than the first NEO Cart piece of crap I bought like a fool before I knew about M3..I think M3 is around $130.00+Shipping and the NEO cart pack that had Magickey 3 and 512 MB Cart and cart reader and 128 MBSD Card cost around $180.00 and I dont even use it anymore...because it sucks so bad compared to M3.

example... mario kart ds http://us.codejunkies.com/codes_show.asp?rf=1&c=GB&cr=GBP&cs=%A3&r=1&l=1&g=17825906&p=16
thats the real site address to show the codes and this is the one they give u who can spot the difference
http://us.codejunkies.com/codes_show.asp?rf=1&c=GB&cr=GBP&cs=%A3&r=1&l=1&g=17825906&p=17
if u use this one u get sent to the review of the ar ds
the difference: look at the end, change the 17 to a 16
then u can view the codes
simple:)
anyone find this useful

I also posted how to do this on the gbadev forum in the Dipstar section except the the end of the urls had to be changed from 17 to 18.
I think right now the problem is.. How to find master code for m3 and the complete format list of the AR Code.
I think if we've it we can convert it from AR format to Dipstar format

I am to looking for subscriptions but not yet. The only time we will see any good subscriptions is when the trainer toolkit comes out

Hey,
Sorry if this has already been posted, my 1st post, and I have looked for my questions for a while now.
I wanted to know if anyone knows if I'm able to use the code from a UK NDS Actrion Replay on a US NDS Action replay. I opened the xml file from the UK game and copied into my xml file from the US Game. NO Luck.
This is for "Lost Magic". I really like this game, but keep dying
The UK xml file has Infinite HP, but not the US xml file.
Can someone fill me in about this, or is this another situation where we will have to wait for the trainer?

The latest firmware for the Action Replay DS allows for input of codes like older game genies/gamesharks. nothing new is needed, just DL their latest firmware. Anyone know if anyone has posted codes for any games yet?

Hey, anyone at least know where to get AR codes for Jump Ultimate Stars? This game still has SO much left to upgrade and I've cleared every possible mission and every single world. I've tried some codes I found on the net, but the game ID is shorter than what the AR allows. Anyone help me please?
