Rumours are mounting about a 'seam' on the Nintendo Wii, which no one actually has to any clue as to why it's on the console. A website is speculating that the seam could actually provide a signficicant power boost to the Wii. Go go gadget turbo boost!

What exactly is up with that part of the Wii? A seam where there doesn’t seem to be a need for one. A little strange, but nothing that amounts to a secret I would say. I have seen this part of the Wii before and wondered what it is, but now we have a rumor to go along with it. Click the link below to read a (Google translated) article that discusses how that little seam may be the hidden secret of the Wii, providing it with a significant boost in power. Thanks to Rafagjm for the heads up!

oh wait, maybe the dongle you put in there turns your wii into a 360, or a ps3, or a ps360 so that your wii is as powerful as the 360 and ps3 combined....

then again maybe yu put your prenis in there, since thats how small it needs to be for you to get a wii.

It's in kind of an odd spot for it to be something used frequently (like a ds slot)

..Probably just some periferal add-on area for future upgrades if they want. Kind of like the "expansion ports" that have been on the bottoms of all the Nintendo Consoles, that we didn't plug much into... (gameboy player?... N64DD?)

lol and saying someone has a small "prenis" for buying a videogame console is NOT lame?

don't hate...

back to the topic... I think it might just be an expansion port like most previous Nintendo consoles had, like on GC, N64. I doubt it will be like that plugin for the N64 "Jumper Pak" or w/e it was called.

dude, it is definetly a gba/ds port. the hole around the whole thing is how the gba cartridge goes in and the small hole at the top is where the ds cartridge goes it. thats fuckin genuise. i cant wait to get this. ( if it emulates ds also, how does it do the touchscreen?)

I think that myself. Nintendo has had a mysterious "expansion" port on every one of their consoles since the original NES.

yep and it makes sense to put it on the side (if the console is standing up) or under it (if the console is horizontal), if it was anywhere else i would think more of the NDS type cartridge port.

The reason I think it can't be NDS is that it wouldn't make any sense, for those who want to put the Wii horizontally, you would have to lift it up and slide the cartridge upwards, seems like a pain in the neck.

However, having another piece of hardware (almost the size of Wii) sliding into that and having little clips so it clips into place would make the Wii the size of 6 DVD cases or w/e (just so u picture where i'm going with this) and this box could be used for more storage space, or "enhance Wii's power" !
