OK,
Can someone make a clear explanation of how to patch a game with a trainer?
When I downloaded the Sonic Rush Trainer, and I unzipped the file, i got the files: V-SONICT.BDF, V-SONICT.NFO, bzip2.exe, unzip2.exe, bzip2.dll, bspatch.exe and File_ID.DIZ
I also downloaded the US version of Sonic Rush, so I also have the file Sonic Rush(US).nds
Now can anyone tell me what i have to do now?
I hope someone helps me out :)

if its the same as metroid, take a look in the metroid trainer topic.
you go into command promt and he tells you step by step.

Quick tutorial then.. it requires basic msdos command knowledge. You might be able to set all this up by right clicking on the file , and entering some commands there, but i never do it that way.
In windows xp/whatever
-start>programs>accessories>command prompt
-it'll probably open to some completely random folder on your computer. c:\documents and settings, etc, etc, etc. So you have to go back to the root directory of the drive all your stuff is on (in my case e:\ )
-next you want to go to the folder where all your trainers are. (in my case it's like 6 paths deep), but for this example, we'll just pretend that the trainers were in c:\trainers
So you'd go to that folder by typing cd\trainers
The prompt would now look like c:\trainers
Make sure that everything is extracted to that folder, the trainer, and the actual .nds file. (it doesn't work with games that are zipped, rar'd, etc)
Next you'll want to run bspatch.exe, so you'd type:
bspatch romfile.nds newromfile.nds patchfile.bdf
-bspatch being the program
-romfile.nds being the name of the .nds file for the game
-newromfile.nds being what the rom will be renamed to (in other words, the patched rom. this can be named anything. as long as .nds is at the end)
-patchfile.bdf being the actual trainer patch
After all is done, it'll take abit of time, then you'll know when it's finished. Afterwards, the game should run perfectly fine. Well, it SHOULD. Castlevania worked fine first try. But i still have yet to get princess peach working.
If there is ANY possible easier way then this, please feel free to post it here. If you're confused about any of the steps (I quickly typed this out, so i hope i didn't miss anything), then just ask.
But I don't get what to do.. what is: newromfile.nds
and what do i have to do with the files: bzip2.exe & unzip2.exe
When i run bspatch on commandpromt nothing happens..
Can't anybody explain it?..

Ok, ill put it as easy as i can, if you get lost tell me.
Create a folder on your c drive called trainers
in that folder extract the trainer files.
then put your rom in there too.
goto:
Start
All Programs
Accessories
Comand Promt
then when that has opend type in
cd\trainers
then your command promt will open that folder.
then type in this
bspatch THEN THE NAME OF YOUR ROM.ndsTHEN WHAT YOU WANT TO NAME YOUR ROM eg SONIC.ndsV-SONICT.bdf
your command promt will take a few seconds and when its done you will have a rom called SONIC.nds copy this to your device and it should play.
if you still have problems send me your rom and ill patch it for you

No
First off, make sure you make a folder in your C: drive called Trainers.
Then copy the trainer files into it, then copy your rom/patch to the folder.
Then type in the commands (no spaces) and when you rename the rom, make sure you have.nds.
If your doing it like this you should have no problems.
If you still have problems, take a screen grab and paste it into paint and save it as a jpeg and pm it to me, i then will take a look and see whats going wrong.

Your problem is that the game name has spaces in it.
Instead of Metroid Prime Hunters.nds make it MetroidPrimeHunters.nds. I ran into that problem earlier yesterday, and discovered the spaces were the problem.

I tried that method and when I typed in cd\trainers it said the system can't find it. iS there anything that might be causing it to do that? I am using it to patch my MPH game and NO, not for online play. the patch I am using is the one that somebody posted. Please help.

oh my god
i dont believe you guys are having problems after retro explained it to ya asses
its plain and simple
firstly id rename the rom ur patching first
example
if the rom is "metroid prime hunters.nds" then simply rename it to "mph.nds"
then also rename the patch file to "patch.bdf"
simple
then when you do the command line thing
type this....
"bspatch mph.nds mphtrained.nds patch.bdf"
mph.nds being the name of your rom
mphtrained.nds being the output name of the rom once patched with the trainer
and patch.bdf being the trainer your patching
hope this helps
i just cant believe how you never followed the mans instructions in the first place
good luck
cos if you cant patch simple stuff like this whats the world cuming to
lol

I have done everything right with the opera browser (eur) and the patch. I have a directory called c:\trainers. In that directory there is the following bspatch, opera.nds, and patch.bdf. I type in the command prompt....
bspatch opera.nds operapatched.nds patch.bdf. Then the command prompt just goes back to c:\trainers and I have no new file, just the three that were already in the directory. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thank you.
P.S. I am using M3DS simply in slot-1, and M3 Lite perfect in slot-2
