Thanks. You was right.

XviD4PSP 5.027 RC2 to RC4 update (http://winnydows.com/download/xvid4psp/XviD4PSP_5027_rc4_update.exe)

Fixed resolution change.
Fixed TTF order set.
Returned AVI Hardware HD.
3GP lowed to lowest x264 and XviD settings for phone compatibility.
TFF order problem is correct, work perfectly now.
For resolution problem there it still a little problem. The program set again 1.728 and 464x272 instead of 1.778 480x272. If i select 480 in W in H appears 160. I change 160 in 272 and the aspect ratio for output video change in 1.765. Having 10 10 in Crop Left / Right tab does nothing?

Try it now, thanks.

EDIT:
Same detecting in resolution/aspect (1.728 and 464x272) but when i change W in 480 the aspec ratio still 1.728 (with previous version changed in 1.765).
The unusual thing is that the program reveals 1,728 instead of 1,778, why?

Hello, winnydows

I'm using windows vista 32bit, XviD4PSP 5.027 rc5 with no office 2007 groove.
DirectX version is up to date. And ffdshow_rev1716_20071222_xxl is installed.

When I opened AVI file with DirectShowSource, XviD4PSP crashed at 21%.
With using FFmpegSource, program works fine.

Why I can't use DirectShowSource?
What can I do in this situation?

ok i am very confused. I have two .vob files. the first one is film and the second one is hybrid film interlaced. They are both 29.97 fps however xvid4psp outputs them at 23 fps. Why? why can't it keep the original fps? If i try to change the out put fps the entier file goes super super fast! and sync loss occurs. But i want to keep 29.97 because i don't wana lose any frames. I want it to run smoothly. So is this suppose to happen?

I get the same error when I try to register for the Winnydows forum.
EDIT: I got my registration confirmation via e-mail. The registration mustv'e worked despite the error message.

Suggestion: Move the samplerate options into the general audio encoding options, it doesn't make sense to keep them separate. I'd also make them to 44100Hz by default, since a 48kHz sampling rate gives no noticeable increase in sound quality (at least not on a PSP).

To those who continue to insist codec packs are fine.

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=132702

all codec packs are somewhat evil. even CCCP (i really hate that name) contains old versions of ffdshow...
the installers are usually a mess, they overwrite files they shouldnt, they install unneeded and buggy filters/codecs and when trying to uninstall the codec pack they leave files everywhere and remove registry keys or sections on .ini files the should not even touch.
latest ffdshow(tryouts) + haali media splitter do almost everything you may need.

Ranguvar
12-27-2007, 08:00 PM
I'd also make them to 44100Hz by default, since a 48kHz sampling rate gives no noticeable increase in sound quality (at least not on a PSP).
The default is whatever the sample rate of the source was. Decreasing it from the source will cause you to lose elements of the sound. Wonder why YouTube videos with music seem to be so low quality, background elements are missing? They halve the source's sample rate.

No point in adding DivX; Xvid is compatible with all DivX players and is better in every way.

As for 5.1 AAC for the PS3, Sony decided for some unknown reason to not allow 5.1 in user-encoded videos, so that would also be pointless.

I try to open an AVI file, encoded in XviD and I have some problems.

- If I open with "AviSource"
Error 1: "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation"
Error 2: "The system cannot find the path specified"

Then it just leaves the Xvid4PSP5 screen open with the SourceDetector window, if I close this Xvid4PSP 5 crashes.

-If I open with "FFmpegSource"
I get the same errors

-If I open with "DirectShowSource"
it will try to cache for over 1000% then say it cannot be done and whether I want to switch to FFmpegSource

Please help!!

P.s. I have the CCCP codec pack installed.

I just installed this new version of xvid4psp and lo and behold.. no multiple file selection? whyyyyyyyyy?

What is the best way to encode multiple files.. If they all are the same size, and you want the same profile for them all, shouldn't there be an option to "Use selected profile on all files" and just press save? Im glad that pop up window doesn't open each time you add a file though, thats good.

Im liking that new interface, but there should be buttons for more things.. like the "Aspect Ratio / Resolution"

Thanks Winnydows

It seems that the OGG decoder is somehow broken in the 5.xxx series, I've got an OGM file with OGG audio, and the audio cuts out 5 seconds into the final converted file.

I converted it with v4.115 and it works fine, but with the latest v5 there's no sound after 5 seconds.

I'm still on 4.1.1.5. I guess I still won't be upgrading since a lot of other people here are complaining.

I know it's completely up to winnydows, and I love his great work on this software, but I wish he'd go back to 4.1.1.5 and just build on that interface, or maybe bring out an updated version with newer version codec builds. Just a thought.

Can you add a functionnality to make .ts and .m2ts container ?
In order to bypass the 4GB limitation of PS3's mp4 and to add multichannel audio ?

Thank you a lot !

Edit : nothing to do !
.ts is already implemented in XVid4PSP XD

To do multiple files just drag your video, select your config and save then drag the next etc, etc. when you're ready click encode and it will do them all. Its alot of set up but oh well.

On the new v5.xxx series, a file called PresentationFontCache.exe refuses to shut itself off after all the conversions are done and Xvid has been shut off.

When I manually shut it off, it instantly restarts.

This needs to be FIXED.

Ok trying that now, for those that may be wondering where the setting is it's at Video/Brightness/Contrast/Profile Drop down box.
EDIT: After re-encoding its a little better but still very noticable. I guess it has something to do with the psp screen refresh rate. Although my umd movies don't suffer from this ghosting.

Hi. I've been using XviD4PSP on my desktop and love it. I just installed it on my laptop and I have a problem. When I choose File>Open or just click the Open button, the program freezes. If I go to windows task manager and 'end task' on safeopendialog.exe the program will unfreeze, but it will just freeze again on file>open. I installed framework 3.0 and am using 5.031. The Windows version is XP Home Edition SP2. If anyone can help that would be great, I couldn't find a solution through searching.

Is this forum ever checked by Winnydows for bug reports anymore???

Because there's been a couple bugs with importing files with dual/multiple AAC audio tracks. It happens on both OGM and MKV files, as well as true Divx dual audio files.

The first bug is that they completely crash the latest 5.031 full version completely, no notice, no warning, just crashes and instantly exits after it finishes extracting the audio.

The second bug is if it somehow manages to not crash after audio extraction, it only seems to extract the first 5 minutes of the audio.

I even tried v4.115 and it doesn't crash, but it still only gets the first 5 minutes of the audio.

I even tried manually extracting using MKVextractGUI, and still only got 5 minutes worth of audio.

You could've just used the 4.115 version of Xvid4PSP to do MKV files with embedded subs.

For whatever reason, that function still hasn't been put back into the newer versions yet...........

Ok, basically I have many video files in many formats and containers. I don't mind that for general PC playback. However, I have an Archos 605 so I need to convert most of my videos to play back on it. In the past, I've owned a 5G iPod and an iPod Touch. The best program I found at the time was XviD4PSP and so I've been using it to convert videos for my Archos 605.

Here is the problem, I'm trying to convert some 704x480 H.264 files that are in an .mkv container. I have no issues watching the files on my PC. However, when I convert it with XviD4PSP, the outputted video loses sync about half way through. I have no issues when I convert my other videos that are in .avi containers. And I also don't have a problem when I convert my other series that is in an .mkv container (704x400 series).

Any help to fix this problem or explain why it is happening would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know why Xvid4PSP try to open rmvb files with ffmpegsource and we can not change settings either...

ffmpeg supports these file types;
ASF
AVI
Matroska
NUT
FLV
WAV
QuickTime
MPEG-1
MPEG-2
MPEG-4
SMAF(MMF)

Obviously, there are no rm, rmv, nor rmvb...
Winnydows, please fix this problem.

I just got a Vista tablet, and installed XviD4PSP-v4.115-(full) with K-Lite Mega Pack, same as I did with my previous XP laptop.

I noticed it'll "pause" by itself if the screen is off and/or doesn't have XviD4PSP on top and highlighted, or something like that. When a video pass or audio encode or etc is completed, and one of those conditions are met, the conversion progress will stop until I click on XviD4PSP. From there, it'll finally start on the next part of the encode.

It's a huge waste of time, especially since I try to encode while I sleep, and I do lock the computer. I woke up only to find the 1st pass was done hours ago.

Additionally, I'm using 2-pass ultra. The only difference in speed between my old and new laptop is that the 2nd pass is about the same speed as 1st pass (28.42fps from h.264 source) as opposed to being half. Is it suppose to be that slow, or is there anything I can tweak while maintaining the 2-pass quality?

I tried xvid4psp. I run mythtv. I had created a userjob to export the nuv files that myth creates to xvid/mp3. I tried converting those files, but no joy. PSP says corrupted data and they don't run.

Why the hell is this thing going backwards again??? Winnydows never should have started over, he should have kept the v4.115 core.........

Only problem is if you decide to do this, make sure to update all the tool files.

ie. x264.exe is really out of date, go to doom9.org to find an updated copy.

Maybe Winny should release a patch rar file with all the updated codec files for 4.1 ppl. It'd be a nice thing to have. Using out of date codecs to encode stuff is just awful in many respects :( I personally have all the files updated, since I use xvid4psp from time to time to do mass encoding. Otherwise I do it the normal way and write scripts in plain .avs files and encode using megui.

Your posts create pain. They are a sign of your small reserve of intelligence leaving your body. Shut up and read the thread. The point is that if you are going to gripe about someone's work, either support their work or stop using their work and be quiet about it. Unfortunately a good percentage of the accounts on maxconsole are held by spamming wankers who come here to hump their video conversion or battery/memory stick making applications. Likely work that was appropriated from those unreimbursed folks whose work folks are griping about. These spammers start bs threads as howtos or tutorials about using their product. Otherwise they come in to legitimate threads like this one to hump their product as an alternative. You can identify them by their one sentence "yeah it is the bomb" posts and their sub-10 post count. Welcome back, but read the thread before you start posting and then *lighten up francis*...

Use youtube downloader app from red kawa's pspvideo9. It automatically downloads the .flv and converts it into mp4 for you.

Problem Solved!

I agree...

I agree, too.

I actually see no benefit in the version 5 interface. The wort is that batch-converting is disabled, so converting a whole series of videos is kinda out of the question.

If winnidows implemented some kind of second skin which looks like version 4 and actually has the same options (like batch), it would be awesome.

Xvid4psp 5.036 used to work fine on my system and then it just suddenly stopped working. I tested it on many different files and on files that used I used to be able to convert. I uninstalled and reinstalled both Xvid4psp and the codec packs. I even downloaded the newest veresion of the Nero AAC encoder and overwrote the one in the Xvid4psp directory. Can you please tell me what I need to do to get it working again? Thanks!
