View Full Version : No EA NHL 2007 For Nintendo Wii
An EA publicist has confirmed that there will be no Nintendo platforms for EA's NHL 07 video game. Despite this set back for Nintendo hockey fans, EA have commented that many of their other games continue to support the DS and they hope to fully be on the Wii in the future.
"You are correct," said Electronic Arts publicist Jen Riley, responding to our inquiry. "[There will be] no Nintendo platforms for NHL 07."
NHL 2K7, the next version of the 2K Sports hockey franchise, is not currently scheduled for release on GameCube either, meaning it is likely that no new hockey game will be released for Nintendo's current home console. Riley noted that while NHL 07 is absent from Nintendo's lineup, EA is continuing to support Nintendo's systems.
"Many of our other games are continuing to support DS," said Riley, "and we hope to be on Wii in the future."

How huge, who's going to buy a Wii instead of a 360 now?
that really annoys me, but will not make me purchase a 360 or ps3 instead of a wii.

What a blow for hockey fans that had their hearts set on a wii. Im assuming hockey games are as important to USA and Canada as football(soccer) games are to the rest of the world? This might sway a few buyers to an alternative console.

Taking away the ones are fan on North of USA and Canada ( I say the ones are fan, not the other 95% ) , I think the unworthy "rest of the world" ( me included ) gives a Damn to the NHL :D titles, or people didn't buy X-box for the lack of Mahjong titles??
Now if you speak about a world wide ranged spor like Soccer, Tennis, Basketball, etc is another thing. Anyway I think sports are not mean to be played on the console, people should shake their fat asses, and not try to cheat their brain "practicing sports" on console. I give supports for things you couldn't do on real life, or extreme and stilized representations of life.

Just because people play a sports video game doesnt mean they dont take part in sport in real life does it?
Really most games are based on things you could do in real life, you could recreate Call of Duty by going paintballing. racing games? who needs them, go on a track day.

yes, could you recreate, with the sounds, smoke, and blood at all? what about jumping from a bloody third floor , escaping from a grenade? hehehe :D, or using a sniper "paint ball" from 200 m?
Well, I am talking about games like MGS, GTA, MarioKart, Starfox, the Sims ( well, is a sim over life, anyway, jsut with easy money rewards :p ) and most RPGs, Grand Turismo, Residen Evil, Halo, etcetcetc :o Maybe because I don't like cooperative sports I don't like them on Video game either, is personal :D

I agree with Panichio.
People who play games, play what they like, eg Need for Speed will be played by boy racers or wanabee.
CoD, MoH are played by people who are into war, war documentries so forth.
Sports again football fans and what ever.
it all depends on what the gamer likes and wants to do in or out of a game.
some people play the games just for the fact of entertainment and dont care what its about.
