I havent got my gamecube working, burnt over 20 games and none of them worked perfectly. tryid the drive type B but it didn't do anything.
Could it be the media im using (verbatim). i think im next going to try other media, maybe ritek G05.

verbatim is good media, but i'm not sure if cube likes it. Traxdata dvd-r's (ritek G05 dye) are working great on my cube, while i can't get my mini-dvds (Traxdata, Ritek G04 dye) working without DREs.

Verbatim dye is 1 million times better than rubbish ritek crap, there is no such thing as the gamecube drive liking 1 dye over another, its all to do with po and pi errors within the media, and you will find Verbatim will better Ritek in all situations.....

The problem imo is your drive, possibly firmware and speed, its known some drives act better with some dyes than others, but on all drive verbatim works great unless the drive is in error.

I would check the firmware (update it), then check what speed your burning at (Decent media cant handel low speeds, as the data cant pit properly) So burn at mabey a mid range speed, and last mabey its time for a drive upgrade, the best you can get is possibly the latest benq or Nec, and they can be bought for the same price you sell your old one on ebay for ;) :P

po and pi errors are not always the problem. Because my cube reads the ritek G05 perfectly, even when i get quality about 75, with lots of pi errors. But I agree that Verbatim has much better quality. I wonder, why is the ritek so overrated on gamecube...

i've tried different speeds, 2x 4x 8x 16x. Nothing works for verbatim.
